Following on from the other thread…

Mine is Chez Bruce been several times and always been faultless and accommodating.
The only thing I really miss about living in london!

Prawn on the Lawn - at the restaurant or the farm. Best seafood ever. Beats Steins hands down. The atmosphere is amazing. We've been with small children and as they've grown we always take them back.

Totally underwhelmed by PPs choices of the Black Rat and Cliveden dining room. Meh.

We're near Edinburgh so spoilt for choice!
Aizle
Rhubarb at the Prestonfield
Taisteal
Wedgwood

Outside
Three Chimneys
Peat Inn

And from left field
Meat Stack in Newcastle
Sa Capella near San Antonio in Ibiza, no idea if it's still there. In an old church.

A tiny restaurant in New York. I cant remember the name and I think the whole experience helped as our hotel concierge walked us there with an umbrella as it was snowing. There was only about 8 tables, it was a set menu and everything we had was just perfectly cooked and delicious.

A restaurant called Paris House near Milton Keynes. I think it’s been tipped in the Michelin guide and it’s thoroughly deserved. Mind blowing food and great service

Oblomov21 · 19/11/2021 18:25

Hibiscus Tasting Menu, London. Now closed. Was the best I've ever eaten.

DialSquare · 19/11/2021 18:26

I've been to quite a few already mentioned but my all time favourite (and the one I keep going back to) is The Waterside Inn in Bray.

GiveMyHeadPeaceffs · 19/11/2021 18:30

A seafood place in Lanzarote with the most magnificent garlicky langoustines. I still fantasise about those prawns Grin

DuesToTheDirt · 19/11/2021 18:30

Another Edinburgh person here - David Bann's is always fabulous, though I'm not keen on the chocolatey main course they do. Went to Wedgwood for a blowout tasting menu one time and that was fantastic, though I think DH is still recovering from the bill!

@HoseMeDownWithHolyWater

I really love Mowgli.
I went to the one in Oxford and I've been desperate to go back - when I tell people I went to go to a really great chain restaurant I get this face Hmm but the food was so good! Grin

La Terrazza in the Hotel Eden in Rome. Incredible food and the views of the city are truly stunning.

user1493222657 · 19/11/2021 18:36

Travancore, Aberdeen

Roselilly36 · 19/11/2021 18:39

Our most memorable meal ever was at the CN tower in Toronto, awesome. Had two trips there, lunch on one occasion, dinner on the other. Would recommend.

LagganBubble · 19/11/2021 18:47

Pipe & Glass, near Beverley. Lovely food and friendly non- pretentious service. Rooms are fab too!

Georgyporky · 19/11/2021 18:48

Amsterdam has an "Hotel Training School" on the outskirts - which happened to be near our hotel.

Fantastic food & service. Menu is limited as all staff are in training, & being overseen by managers who are unbelievable strict; e.g. a sliver of cheese from the cheese board must be cut again if not precisely at the right angle.

Unbelievably cheap - only drawback was having to eat at 18.30 instead of a more usual 20.00.

LarryVeest · 19/11/2021 18:50

The Witchery in Edinburgh.

Mumofone2021 · 19/11/2021 18:52

The applecross inn, in the highlands of Scotland. The freshest and most amazing scallops. Also my daughter was 6 at the time and obsessed with curry. When they came to take the order she insisted on a chicken korma (not on the menu). When I told her she needed to choose something else the lovely waiter said ‘don’t you worry, I’ll have chef make you a chicken korma’
Perfect…

ruthieness · 19/11/2021 18:52

Paul Bocuse auberge in Lyon
The most incredible food!

enjoyingscience · 19/11/2021 18:54

A fine dining place in Milan, they did a seven course vegetarian menu that was the best and most fun meal I’ve ever had. I wish I could remember what it was called, but I remember every course!

Usecoooomonsnse · 19/11/2021 18:54

Ooh this is timely.
Going to Dinner by Heston in a couple of weeks

How dressed up does one have to be ?

@Hoolihan
@WakeUpLockie

It might even be Private Dining ? Not entirely certain

Thanks a lot.

ScribblingPixie · 19/11/2021 18:57

Yeah, from the info given I think the Soho restaurant is Andrew Edmunds too. Very odd not to want to give them extra business after the rotten time restaurants have had in the pandemic.

Titsywoo · 19/11/2021 19:12

I really loved the restaurant at The Ritz - amazing food.

Bwobbwob · 19/11/2021 19:18

Another vote for Andrew Edmunds, cozy, welcoming and fabulous food

Titsywoo · 19/11/2021 19:21

@JengaCupboard

Not fancy restaurant as such, but for quality vs. price The Social Board in Brighton is one of my absolute go-to favourites.

That and Very Italian Pizza (VIP), Brighton. Both brilliant.

I love VIP! Also in Brighton and Hove - Fatto e Mano which is equally good pizza albeit less topping options!
