To get a fucking huge bed?

I'm about to move to icu and I've been told I'll be doing night permanently for 4 months, 4 nights at once mom-Thursday. That's fine with me it's a bit more money, but we've just moved into a new house and we've got the worst bed ever. It's an 'occasional double' so bloody tiny. I hate it. We stayed in my in-laws spare room recently and it was heavenly. A king size bed from John Ryan by design which honestly felt like sleeping on a cloud.

So coming back to now. I've measured up and it would be doable to put a superking size zip and link bed in our room, but I'd have to lose my bedside table. I'm thinking of saying it could be our Christmas present to each other a night where we don't wake each other up and kick each other repeatedly!

Would you if you could? It would be amazing but Will I miss my table? It has no drawers so I'm not losing storage, it has an Alexa, a lamp and a cup on it 99% of the time and my neom well-being pod. I do have a very low and deep window sill near by too though so maybe I could just put it all there?

It was amazing we didn't move at all last night I woke up in the same position I fell asleep in so glad we did it!

So pleased for you. As an aside Amazon amongst other places sell a little thing that slides under the mattress and has a pocket hanging down so that you can store all your stuff if you've no bedside cabinet.

I got a superking after reading a thread on here of everyone saying it's life changing!!

It totally is. I don't know how we even coped in a king bed, the super is just bloody marvellous.

I love how far away DH is but he's just close enough to reach out and touch arms etc. it's so nice being able to starfish or lie with my leg out to the side and not worry about touching DH!!

We’ve had a superking for over 20 years. In fact it’s been an ongoing joke between my DH and me that if we ever divorce I get the bed and he gets the kids-and then he “argues” the opposite! :)

Can I ask people’s opinion: we have a king size; I would LOVE a super king. Does it really make that much of a difference? I am now even contemplating an emperor but think we’d probably not be able to move in our bedroom with an emperor. So basically my question is: does a super king only feel amazing if you previously had a ‘smaller’ bed like a double or is the difference from king to super king amazing too? (OP I can’t remember what you had before)..

I loved going from a double to a super long, then upgraded recently to a Simba.

Beds are so important.

We got a super king bed earlier this year. It's the best thing ever. We have very little extra space in the bedroom but totally worth it

Thanks @ItsAllAboutTheLighting! I’ve been looking at their website a lot. Can’t decide whether to just buy a mattress from them or a bed too (the beds look fab too). Do you have both?

We have a 6ft bed with zip mattresses. When ever we stay somewhere else miss our beautiful bed! I would 100 per cent go with it . Sleep well!

We moved house last year and our new bedroom is huge compared to the previous one, so our first thought was to get a bigger bed (previous house we were just about able to fit in a standard double, and even then it was against the wall at one side, so I had no bedside table).

We were devastated to realise that the new room wasn't quite long enough for a king size bed.

BUT. It is super wide. So... we got a second double bed and put them beside each other. A double bed EACH. It is MAGNIFICENT.

We have a duvet each too, and it is the best thing ever.
