Just seen the footage of a woman attacking a horse after a "drag hunt"
She is a primary school teacher and a member of the pony club.
Aibu to think she should lose her job over this?

I think it would be more appropriate, if convicted, that she were required to complete an anger management course, and community service at the SPCA. Not interacting with the animals, cleaning out kennels and litter trays, etc.

@floundery

First this post is not about rapists who should not only go to prison but be castrated too perhaps? At least chemically for a good long time.
Also my saying she should go to prison is not saying rapists should not, they are not mutually exclusive.

Why are you trying to hijack the post?

Why are you trying to put words in my mouth?

Why are you making these assumptions about my views?

Finally the RSPCA has tried to get penalties for animal cruelty increased and they should be. Remember many killers start of with animal.

amispeakingenglish · 12/11/2021 17:42

People often use the term GO TO PRISON, to illustrate their strength of feeling.

Prison is expensive and there might be better ways, community work, paying back by working at an animal shelter etc.
Knee jerk reactions are ok if they are not the end, after they have got of our systems, myself included you can think more rationally and productively. There is no law on Mumsnet about not being emotional, or having an emotional response .

I certainly don’t think she should go to prison. I think she should be banned from owning animals again and I mean ever again and I think she needs to loose her job and find another one wher she isn’t to be a role model to impressive children.

I one hundred percent believe if you’re caught abusing an animal you should never be permitted to own one ever again and if you break that, then a very hefty fine.

@Bluntness100 it's lose.. really for someone so opinionated as you I find it quite amazing you don't know the difference between loose and lose. I had seen this from you a few times now.
Pumperthepumper · 12/11/2021 19:48

@SpeckledlyHen some people don’t have English as their first language, some had incredibly difficult childhoods leading to education taking a back seat, some had physical disabilities that make typing difficult.

And obviously, you’ve used the wrong tense in your post. Stop being ignorant.

Pumperthepumper · 12/11/2021 19:50

@SpeckledlyHen some also have iPhones that autoincorrect.

Some people need to fuck off to pedants corner. Off you pop SpeckledlyHen.

Ddot · 12/11/2021 20:41

Why is she keeping tabs on someone's spelling, christ mine is shocking. Lap it up sweetie, fill your boots 🤣🤣

ThePriceIsNotRight · 12/11/2021 20:54

Not really a witch hunt, given that ‘witches’ were women and men persecuted for things they didn’t do. Doesn’t really correlate with this woman, given she’s on camera kicking shit out of a horse.

Yes!!
Derbee · 12/11/2021 23:22

@SpeckledlyHen I HAVE seen this from you, not I HAD seen this from you. HTH.

For someone so opinionated on grammar, I find it quite amazing THAT you don’t use commas where appropriate, and that you pay no attention to tenses. Grin

Zenithbear · 12/11/2021 23:36

She should be sacked and banned from ever having animals.
I wouldn't be happy for her to teach my dc or dgc. She's a nasty, evil piece of work imo.
I hope she gets her comeuppance.

MissPeregrine · 13/11/2021 08:55

Does anybody know what’s happened to the poor horse?

BertramLacey · 13/11/2021 09:02

some also have iPhones that autoincorrect.

In this case, they appear to have autocorrected 'impressionable' to impressive'. Hard to say though, perhaps the children really are incredibly impressive and therefore deserve better teachers.

BertramLacey · 13/11/2021 09:21

@MissPeregrine he didn't look to be in poor condition. The RSPCA can be slow to act in cases where there's a more immediate physical threat so I would think he's still where he was. If his owner has gone into hiding maybe someone else is looking after him. I wouldn't worry too much - with all the furore at the moment I doubt anyone would dare touch him!

MissPeregrine · 13/11/2021 09:57

@BertramLacey let’s hope he is being well looked after now, although I hope this won’t be the case of ‘the RSPCA advised the owner etc etc’ and we don’t hear about a favourable outcome for the horse.

RalphLaurenG · 13/11/2021 13:47

@MissPeregrine

Does anybody know what’s happened to the poor horse?

No. But I would imagine it's gone back to its normal life.

IF this is a one off incident, the horse won't be affected (I've owned horses for 30 years )

Mothership4two · 10/12/2021 04:31

It's not really about nuance @treguffin, what she did was blatantly wrong no matter what was going on around her.

I have family members (and friends) who have hunted and others who are anti-hunting. My PIL's middle aged neighbour was whacked over the head, (knocking him out and fracturing his skull) by a hunt sab when he got out of his car to find out why the traffic had stopped on a country lane. So I'm no big fan of them
