Teacher filmed attacking her horse

Just seen the footage of a woman attacking a horse after a "drag hunt"
She is a primary school teacher and a member of the pony club.
Aibu to think she should lose her job over this?

I think it's the hypocrisy thst get me.

wincarwoo · 11/11/2021 08:17

@treguffin

Defending how? I've made it very clear I don't agree with what she did.
You said she was provoked. That's defending.
IncompleteSenten · 11/11/2021 08:22

Cross with a person, kick an animal. Ok.

liveforsummer · 11/11/2021 08:23

Of course the sabs will have provoked her - they will have been delighted to get this footage! I'd imagine she was desperate to get the horses loaded and out of there. The sabs were videoing her kids, not her. She was absolutely stupid to do what she did and it was very nasty of her to take it out on the pony, the kick was particularly vicious. Before you all say I'm excusing an animal abuser I'm absolutely not, but hunt sabs can be proper dicks and have no qualms in upsetting or hurting horses if they think they'll get good footage out of it

I'd have actually had a lot more sympathy with her if she'd kicked one of the sabs. How it explains her behaviour towards the pony though I can't fathom?!

Bluntness100 · 11/11/2021 08:26

Most ludicrous thing ever. The sabs incited her to start punching and kicking her pony. Ain’t no one buying that shit.

WildExcuses · 11/11/2021 08:32

And now more deflection, a horse fair... Which many people and animals rights groups are also appalled by, campaign about etc. BUT if you want to discuss those, start a thread. You can’t yet again deflect from this woman’s behaviour and people being appalled by talking about something else. Well you can... but people can see what you’re doing.

WildExcuses · 11/11/2021 08:34

Cross with a person, kick an animal. Ok.

Exactly. There’s no logic to it. It’s like one of your kids being naughty and you telling the other one off.... bizarre.

PlanktonsComputerWife · 11/11/2021 08:53

"Sabs" is such an irritating abbreviation. I can hear some posho braying the word (while laying into their horse).

Sidehustle99 · 11/11/2021 08:57

I certainly hope so. Would want that kind of person influencing primary school children. What an awful woman.

Lady08 · 11/11/2021 09:15

I don’t know why a poster is blaming SABS, they were nowhere near in the video footage. If it wasn’t for the SAB’s there would be a lot more illegal hunting and foxes being killed. They are also subject to violence, just for standing up for the voiceless. I grew up in a rural area where fox hunting took place, as a child there was nothing worse than seeing the hunts parade through our village killing the very foxes our Dad took us to feed for months everyday.
As children this was awful, especially when all you know is kindness towards animals!

Ddot · 11/11/2021 09:43

Hunting is barbaric. Maybe we should cover her in stink and run her down.

There is nothing barbaric about trail hunting. Nothing.
IamtheDevilsAvocado · 11/11/2021 09:51

Yes it's a private act if she likes having doughnuts thrown at her naked in her bedroom, or whether she paints her lounge in neon orange....

Those examples are both legal...

What she did was illegal and involved violence... At the very least the registration authorities should investigate with a view to striking off/ final warning

IamtheDevilsAvocado · 11/11/2021 09:54

It also shows that she can't control her temper and responds with violence when angry.

She shouldn't be around children.... (unless there's a massive backstory - eg an undiagnosed brain injury)

EezyOozy · 11/11/2021 09:54

My kids and husband wind me up all the time, I don't take it out on my bloody animals! Those of you saying that the "sabs made her do it" are batshit apologists for violence towards animals.

Lady08 · 11/11/2021 09:58

@Megan2018

Trail hunting, generally known as a loophole to continue fox-hunting.

If you say so. I’ve been hunting pre and post ban and can tell you they are totally different. We even had sabs at the bloodhounds and that’s never involved animals but people are ignorant.

WildExcuses · 11/11/2021 10:19

There is nothing barbaric about trail hunting. Nothing.

That’s not true. Trail hunting still often results in animals being killed.... they just get to claim it’s an accident. Trail hunting is nothing but a cover for real hunting.

IncompleteSenten · 11/11/2021 10:32

@Megan2018
I have a question. It's going to sound snarky but I honestly am not having a go. I genuinely would like an honest answer and I am not looking to attack you but there is no way to ask the question that avoids it sounding mean!

If you choose to reply, no matter what your reply, I won't respond with an attack or an insult.

You went hunting pre ban. So you hunted actual foxes. What was enjoyable to you about chasing a fox down and having it ripped to bits by dogs? Did you enjoy that bit? Ignore that bit? How did you view the fox?

Agreed. And causing lambs to abort or killing farm livestock. Horrible bunch of people hunters.
Lady08 · 11/11/2021 10:41

@Megan2018

Off course you’re going to say that. I think if you have a google, you are in fact incorrect and I don’t think you can speak for every trail-hunt. The SAB’s attend to make sure you are following the rules, it’s not ignorance, it’s protecting the rights of those animals to not be maimed or killed which is a right that every species should be given.

Absolutely.

The alpacas that were mauled when the hunt went through a farm
The cats that were killed when the hunt ran riot through a cat sanctuary
The hounds killed running across train tracks and main roads
Numerous pet cats killed when hounds run into gardens

All strange places to lay ‘trails’ right?

RunningFromInsanity · 11/11/2021 10:54

Hounds chasing a terrified calf

LakieLady · 11/11/2021 10:55

@Megan2018, I think trail hunting is barbaric when it's used as a smokescreen for illegal hunting with dogs, as encouraged by Master of Foxhounds Mark Hankinson in a training video.

And for which he's just been fined £2.5k.

julieca · 11/11/2021 11:05

The hunt always say they have no control of their dogs if they start chasing other animals.
My family have had sheep abort lambs after being chased by dogs with hunts.
The hunts don't give a shit about animals so I don't know why anyone would be surprised that some treat their horses violently.
