Has anyone else been watching the snag tights/applicant for social media position debacle? I have no involvement in this but have been watching from the sidelines in utter bafflement and now I don’t know if I’m missing something or if this person is truly reaching in order to take offence

So snag tights were recruiting. This person applied, was asked to do a video interview, said yes and was then not interviewed and when snag came back they said all positions were filled, they’d missed her reply and were but would be back in touch when recruiting again. This person believes it was because snag had looked at their social media and decided they no longer wanted to interview them.

This has erupted on both sides with this person posting on multiple social media sites and snag owner Brie seeming to apologise over and over. Admit a mistake was made and that steps were being put in place to resolve moving forward.

That’s it in a tiny nutshell but there’s so much more now including accusations of doxxing.

Is anyone else been reading? AIBU to think the applicant has taken it too far now and needs to move on?

I really couldn't care less about plus size models. There is no way they have anything like the influence of thin ones to pressurise women about their size. I've heard many women say "I wish I were as slim as she is" about a standard model. I have never heard anyone wish to be as large as a model who is significantly bigger than they are. All I hear then is "oh my God, she looks like me, I have representation!"

"Personally I'm far more concerned about the potential dangers of the message that the latter kind of images are sending."

Why? Obesity is a far bigger problem in our society.

I'm + size but something about all of Snag's advertising (not just this latest debacle) puts me off buying from them.

I find M&S Autograph tights to be excellent. They are slightly pricey but last ages and have a wide waist band which helps them stay up. I'm not entirely happy about buying from M&S but I'll make an exception for Autograph tights.

Coming back to say that there’s nothing that could convince me that Snag’s marketing people haven’t come across this thread 😂

Brava snag! My dad used to wear my mum's tights when he was doing early markets in the winter. In all seriousness I hope snag realise that going woke means going broke. They really need to reflect on the tone and approach of the emails they sent to the angry woman. They seem to assume that being woke entitles them to unlimited goodwill but the woke crew can be viciously destructive as we have seen with the following that the angry woman has generated. Advertising tights to women using half naked pornified men will appeal to a tiny number of wokies but the vast majority of tights purchasers are regular women who are put off by that approach.

I thought of this thread when I saw my latest Snags sponsored posts in my FB feed - and totally agree that they’ve read this thread! Back to nice outfits and fairly ‘normal’ looking people - nothing overly sexualised. I actually clicked through for the first time in a very, very long time!
