Go to A&E?

Sorry, I know this isn’t an AIBU and these threads are really annoying, but I’m home alone and can’t figure out whether to go to A&E or stay at home until DH and kids are home later tonight and reassess.

I’ve fainted three times today.

Firstly in the shower this morning, but managed to sit on the bathroom floor before I fell down. Thought maybe I just got up too quickly this morning, low blood pressure etc.

Then it happened again a couple of hours later in the kitchen. Fell to the floor, hurt my hip, think I was only unconscious for less than a minute.

Finally, it happened about an hour ago. More scary this time, as I don’t remember it happening, but woke up in my hallway feeling bruised as if I’d fallen. Think I was only out for a minute or two.

This is really odd. Never happened before. No underlying health conditions, although I feel like I might have a mild UTI today.

Yes go to a and e.

SummerHouse · 06/11/2021 16:20

Go. Can someone take you. I don't think you should drive.

cormorantes · 06/11/2021 16:21

At the very least call 111

Eltonsglasses · 06/11/2021 16:21

I would not go to A&E at all tbh. The NHS
Website recommends speaking to your GP. I would call 111 re the UTI symptoms though.

purplesequins · 06/11/2021 16:22

go.
take a taxi or ask someone to drive you.

have you eaten today?
did you have similar previously?

DunderMifflinSalesRep · 06/11/2021 16:22

Call 111. They might be able to get you an out of hours GP appointment.

Are you able to check your pulse / blood pressure?

WandaVision2 · 06/11/2021 16:23

No, you need to speak to an ooh GP. Call 111

SpeckledyHen · 06/11/2021 16:23

Ring 111 and they will advise you.

Bagelsandbrie · 06/11/2021 16:24
  1. Sounds scary.

Do you have a fever or any signs of an underlying infection / illness?

Theyellowflamingo · 06/11/2021 16:24

I think you you need to go to hospital, yes. Can anyone take you - neighbour, local friend? Do not drive yourself!!

girlmom21 · 06/11/2021 16:24

I agree with calling 111 but do you have someone who can come and sit with you just in case? Make sure you eat and drink.

Shitfuckcommaetc · 06/11/2021 16:24

Are you pregnant?

Darkstar4855 · 06/11/2021 16:24

Ring 111, they will advise you on where best to be seen. Sounds like out of hours GP/walk in centre would be more appropriate than A&E.

TheShadoutCrepes · 06/11/2021 16:28

Yes, this is absolutely a case for A&E.
History of new onset syncope needs to be seen urgently. You need an ECG.

Inthesameboatatmo · 06/11/2021 16:28

Gosh that is scary ,get checked out definitely as soon as possible.

TheShadoutCrepes · 06/11/2021 16:29

Definitely have someone drive you.

SilverSandStorm · 06/11/2021 16:30

A&E for sure, you need further investigations, out of hours or walk in centres unlikely to have access to blood tests etc.

TheAverageUser · 06/11/2021 16:31

Yes I'd go but don't drive.

RoxOff · 06/11/2021 16:31

Just on hold to 111 now. Thanks for the replies.

Not pregnant, in my 40s, have eaten and drank water normally today.

Very strange!

I definitely won’t be driving anywhere, don’t worry.

I'd call 111 in the first instance, they may send you to ooh or tell you to get to a&e. Either way, a medical professional needs to examine you and find out why this has happened. Good luck op.

Dancingsmile · 06/11/2021 16:34

I hope you get to talk to an adviser quickly. I hope you feel better very soon.

Still1nLove · 06/11/2021 16:47

I would be worried

Derbee · 06/11/2021 16:56

No, A&E would be completely inappropriate

Lagomtransplant · 06/11/2021 16:59

@Derbee

Fainting is most certainly A&E appropriate.

mrsbitaly · 06/11/2021 17:02

Ring 111 and they will access whether you need to go hospital or a doctor visits ect
