Hi I’ve been gifted this LV wallett for a special occasion celebration by DH and I don’t want to sound ungrateful but won’t it just be hidden in my bag most of the time? It’s genuine so cost a lot of money but it’s a wallett isn’t it - so would it be just in my bag or would I carry it around as you would a clutch?

I have one. It lives in my handbag. Inside I have cards and money.

I would just use it as a purse, it's too small to be a clutch - well, definitely for the amount of stuff I cart around with me!

I have one and it just sits inside whatever handbag I'm using. I get great pleasure from getting it out when I have to pay for anything. Just enjoy it for what it is

Its your wallet, do whatever you like with it. Flog it on eBay or wear it as a hat if it pleases you.

I hunk carrying that around as a clutch would look weird.

It's nice. I have an expensive wallet (now sadly at the end of its life. ) It's a nice thing to have. Lasts a long time. Is used daily. My only concern would be the pink would discoloured. I'm going to buy another expensive wallet but this time in darker colours as my bighht coral mulberry purse has now got pen on it!!

I would poke two holes in the top and attach a long chain to use as a shoulder strap then it can be worn across the body. I heard that's very stylish right now, it'll be like a posh bumbag. Poundland have some nice long chains in the halloween decor aisle at the minute.

Definitely not a clutch size, I’d use as a purse in my bag. If it’s been stamped with your initials then it will be non returnable. Please don’t put holes (As previous poster recommended) in it as this will ruin the purse. Just enjoy it as it is.

It's definitely just a purse, surely? If it has slots for cards and a zipped area for coins, it's a purse and should be carried around inside your handbag. Carrying it around like a clutch bag would look really silly, like you're so proud of your new purse that you're using it as a clutch bag! An actual clutch is a completely different thing.

It’s a purse and I would use it as such. It’s something for me, to make me smile, not for showing off to others.

I wouldn’t use it as a clutch (but you can if you want to, of course). Nor would I punch holes in it.

A ‘WOC’ is the term you’re looking for - wallet on a chain. Sold by many high end brands. Back to the purse, use it as intended. Shove it in your bag and take it out whenever needed. It’s only a designer purse - it doesn’t need to constantly be on display.

Thank you everyone! Yes 100% a purse not a clutch! Thanks for confirming. There’s no way I could get my phone and other stuff in for night out. I feel DH spent so much money and feel a bit guilty that it will just be stuffed in my handbag most of the time.

But he obviously wanted to spend it, so why on earth would you feel guilty? He got you a purse so what’s the problem in keeping it in your bag where a purse is supposed to be?
