Are my vintage tapestry shoes that bad?

I was in the charity shop today and found these I absolutely love them think they are super cute. I know some might find them awful but are they that bad?

They are vintage St Micheals (is that marks and Spencer) and made in England. Haven't got a clue how old they are but they are unworn and we're a bargain.

Just realised they match my hearth stool. I actually like them

Wow, seeing this gave me a jolt. My grandma had these as slippers when I was little.

I remember trying them on at Christmas. She loved Marks'.

I actually love them! With skinny black jeans and an oversized shacket I think they’d look great worn out. But I’m also quite old-lady-ish in my tastes Grin

@ShowOfHands

They're definitely slippers. My Grandma always wore St Michael slippers, always with a little heel (they're supportive for arthritic feet).
My grandmother wore these too!
HeadPain · 31/10/2021 22:13

Horrid. Sorry, but you did ask. They could be slightly better if the banding around the edge on your foot - whatever you call it - was different and not beige. Can't see what the heel looks like. Yeah they look like house shoes/slippers.

Margerine78 · 01/11/2021 09:59

OP, I'm all for vintage shoes and tapestry but I'm pretty sure these are slippers, my nan used to have a pair just like them.

LittleGwyneth · 01/11/2021 10:44

I love the pattern/ fabric but the shape says slipper to me. Either way, your feet your choice!

Nanny0gg · 01/11/2021 10:46

@LauraSaidIShouldBeNicer

The inside are like slippers but they have a small 1 inch type heel.
They're still slippers
LimitIsUp · 01/11/2021 15:17

Disappointed that the OP didn't indulge my request by modelling them with various outfits

valerianroot · 01/11/2021 15:47

I really like them, I'm quite prone to granny chic

Thatoldchestnutagain · 01/11/2021 15:54

I had 2 tapestry bags from M&S in the 80s one was a doctor's bag I used as a handbag and the other a slightly bigger barrel bag (pretty sure I still have it somewhere).I was courted by a Japanese gentleman who treated me to a weekend in London and I took my tapestry duo, felt a bit scruffy in Trader Vic's and Stringfellows tbh but the soundtrack of that weekend was Al Jerreau L is for lover including the moonlighting theme so that dates them!

Here are the offenders
Oh they bring back memories. My mum used to wear these slippers, I used to get in trouble for stomping about the house in them.
