"To reduce your speed to 20mph to reduce the risk of accidents"

Um... Or perhaps they should thinking about scraping their backsides off the tarmac of a busy motorway during rush hour?!

Here we go again...

@araiwa that is brilliant. What a stupid interviewer.

CloseYourEyesAndSee · 27/10/2021 09:15

@Finknottlesnewt

This is a perfect example of how to take an issue that has broad agreement and support - and completely fuck it up to the degree that it has completely alienated everyone .
Yep I have zero sympathy for them. I was going to visit a friend the other side of the M25 today.
somewhereoverthechipshop · 27/10/2021 09:17

@AwaAnBileYerHeid

I'll be cheering the day someone thinks "screw this" and just ploughs into them.
I don’t support them particularly, but that is a revolting comment.
FrankieStein403 · 27/10/2021 09:17

This thread is all 'blah blah blah broad agreement blah blah blah'

Wtf are we supposed to do in order to get our leaders to actually do something rather than talk about it?

Etinoxaurus · 27/10/2021 09:18

Cameron is awesome!

Not entirely sure but they are showing is all what not to do currently. If you have a cause you believe in it's best not to go about promoting it in such a stupid way.
nevernomore · 27/10/2021 09:22

'crimes against humanity'

Hmm
Frankzappa22 · 27/10/2021 09:22

Araiwa that interview actually made me laugh out loud. Guffaw really. Amazing 😂😂

NotMyselfWithoutCoffee · 27/10/2021 09:23

@somewhereoverthechipshop

I don't think it's revolting, these people are preventing others accessing vital health care, hospital appointments etc.
They are the ones putting themselves in harms way, I'm surprised someone hasn't cracked and drove into them already.

Sparklingbrook · 27/10/2021 09:23

@overthethamesfromyou

Which bit are they on today, does anyone know?

TicTac80 · 27/10/2021 09:26

That interview was brilliant! Just reading through some of the posts...why on earth are they blocking cycle lanes? Crazy! They're definitely going about this all the wrong way. I'm all for climate change, recycling, caring for the environment etc....but this really isn't the way to go about it.

nevernomore · 27/10/2021 09:26
They can block the M25 every day as far as I'm concerned. They led to one of the greatest interviews ever
That's so funny! It has to be a parody!
Dojacatpaws · 27/10/2021 09:32

Sparkling Brook, I was responding to the statement that they inconvenience everyone, they don't

FreedomFaith · 27/10/2021 09:35

@antsinyourpanta

Are they not probably causing more pollution by doing this too? Cars, lorries etc sat, with engines switched on waiting to move, crawling forward in 1st gear so the least economical of them all. All of that extra pollution...

This what I don't get? How is delaying everyone (while causing unnecessary extra pollution) going to encourage people to insulate their homes? I thought there already were various government initiatives to insulate homes. I'm sure my dad got some grant/help to insulate his loft years ago.

I just watched the interview with Liam North who apparently hasn't even insulated his own home ...but apparently thats not relevant...Confused

That's brilliant. So he's creating more pollution, not helping the environment with his own home, so technically he's actually polluting the earth twice as much as if he just went to work and shut up?

Maybe their actual plan is to speed it all up and end human life as we know it quicker? It's certainly not save the planet type demonstrations at least. Or they are diverting attention away while other people rob homes.

Sparklingbrook · 27/10/2021 09:36

Indirectly they do though.
Dojacatpaws · 27/10/2021 09:39

Fetarabbit - I have plenty of empathy for people who can't get to medical appointments etc, but over all I'd like to see less people driving, less cars on the road

Dojacatpaws · 27/10/2021 09:40

Sparkling Brook, perhaps in the future, but right now they don't affect me, directly or indirectly

So the lorries getting held up don’t have anything on that you might want to buy from the shops? Or warehouses that do online delivery. That’s great if so.

Just off to water the concrete I've planted in my garden...

Privatesector · 27/10/2021 09:46

You can grow concrete....wtaf??

Dojacatpaws · 27/10/2021 09:47

Sparklbrook, like I say, right now I haven't been prevented from buying anything I need so far but that could change.

anon12345678901 · 27/10/2021 09:48

@LemonSwan

Honestly what a load of drivel.

Do you know what would happen to me if I ran across the M25 shouting that I want to save the world and my children from impending doom?

I would get sectioned.

This.

They're fucking idiots with too much time on their hands.

JellyfishandShells · 27/10/2021 09:50

It’s not just the car drivers trying to get to work or people with important appointments ( though no one drives on the M25 for a fun trip out)

I was driving on a western section of the M25 on Thursday and noted that the lorry/truck traffic in particular was back to what I would consider normal, preCovid levels ie heavy on lanes 1 and 2 and busy on 3. It’s a major route to and from the southern ports, out to all the country and trying to divert that sort of traffic off the M25 would be completely snarl up all the roads around, which are busy enough in the first place. A lot of airfreight uses it to get to Heathrow.

We already have enough supply chain issues at the moment, without adding to it.

PieMistee · 27/10/2021 09:51

That interviewer must be the thickest fuck ever.

SirensofTitan · 27/10/2021 09:51

@Dojacatpaws

Sparkling Brook, perhaps in the future, but right now they don't affect me, directly or indirectly
Do you not live in England?

The M25 has so much varied traffic that I'd assume it affects all of us in some way.
