"To reduce your speed to 20mph to reduce the risk of accidents"

Um... Or perhaps they should thinking about scraping their backsides off the tarmac of a busy motorway during rush hour?!

Here we go again...

To give a heads up to anyone using the M25 tomorrow....

These guys just don't get it that their protests are hurting all the wrong people. People driving on the m25 are mainly doing so for work, and many of these people cant afford to go another route and be late etc.

TinySaltLick · 27/10/2021 07:51

@MissCruellaDeVil

What happens if I choose to ignore the 20mph "limit" and instead drive 80mph like usual, I'm sure they'll move...

Bloody idiots.

Is your question 'what if I deliberately speed on a motorway and drive into a person'? - because I think the likelihood is that you would probably find yourself in a position materially different from the celebrated freedom fighting activist figure you may imagine.

Perhaps eye for an eye has worked well for you in other facets of your life

Ilovepearjuice · 27/10/2021 07:51

[quote araiwa]They can block the M25 every day as far as I'm concerned. They led to one of the greatest interviews ever

Haha what a knob

Dojacatpaws · 27/10/2021 07:52

The interviewer that is

PlanDeRaccordement · 27/10/2021 07:52

I see it as one more piece of data pointing to general increase of lawlessness in U.K. You have uni students being jabbed with needles, you have woken being murdered in parks on broad daylight, teen boys stabbed to death on street corners, eco-terrorists blocking roads, empty supermarket shelves, petrol crisis, fishing boat warfare, hundreds of illegal migrants beaching boats along the coast daily, billions lost to Covid cons/bank fraud,....

Ekerty72 · 27/10/2021 07:55

I wonder what David Attenborough makes of all these protests!

Bagelsandbrie · 27/10/2021 07:56

These people have no sense whatsoever. They’re targeting all the wrong people and everyone else watching just thinks they’re complete idiots.

5G, microchips, lizard people, area 51, tin foil, country going to the dogs, foreigners taking out jobs, too much money spent on rehabilitation, throwing money away on overseas aid, policitcal correctness gone mad, aromatherapy, eating crusts give you curly hair
Dojacatpaws · 27/10/2021 07:57

Planderacordment, yeah those bloody immigrants

Dojacatpaws · 27/10/2021 07:59

Bagels and brie, everyone?

Fetarabbit · 27/10/2021 08:00

I don't get how the police just let them carry on, I'm pretty sure if I was coasting down the M25 at 20mph in my Nissan micra, or chilling eating my picnic on the road I'd be pulled over and removed, even if I gave a ridiculous reason like protesting against something. Lots of them have proven to be really wealthy people who have benefitted from either working for or being married to employees of big, polluting companies. Its infuriating.

ivykaty44 · 27/10/2021 08:00

OP you do realise you've done exactly what the organisation wants - to broadcast about them and bring their action to the forefront of peoples minds - they don't cares that its negative - they just want to be noticed

Yesterday there was a funny skit of them trying to block a cycle lane in London - the cyclist just rode round.....but in reality it was to prevent the drivers using the cycle lane

Ilovepearjuice · 27/10/2021 08:03

@ivykaty44 You do have a point, but equally I didn't want MN drivers to get stuck without realising it was happening!

Pandaly · 27/10/2021 08:03

Is this the people who want to insulate everything?

Simonjt · 27/10/2021 08:07

Ah, rich and unemployed people with nothing better to do.

If I decided to block the M25 I’d probably be shot and called a terrorist, at least the traffic would get moving again.

They’ve been blocking cycle lanes around here…I mean, I knew it was a dim movement, but come on.

itsgettingwierd · 27/10/2021 08:19

One of the people from it was on GMB this morning. Was totally pointless. Wouldn't answer questions, just kept repeating their same line over and over.

At one point it was asked about the risk of death they pose by blocking ambulances and she basically responded "but I want my daughter to have a future"

So her daughter can have a future but others can't.

Lost any interest at that point.

antsinyourpanta · 27/10/2021 08:19

Are they not probably causing more pollution by doing this too? Cars, lorries etc sat, with engines switched on waiting to move, crawling forward in 1st gear so the least economical of them all. All of that extra pollution...

This what I don't get? How is delaying everyone (while causing unnecessary extra pollution) going to encourage people to insulate their homes? I thought there already were various government initiatives to insulate homes. I'm sure my dad got some grant/help to insulate his loft years ago.

I just watched the interview with Liam North who apparently hasn't even insulated his own home ...but apparently thats not relevant...Confused

saw this - and she refused to answer a question about if her home was insulated I think (sound was on low) and just had a tone of hysteria throughout.

It was embarrassing for her.

SevenZebrasDancing · 27/10/2021 08:23

sorry, but what a bunch of idiots. As a pp said- what a way to take an issue that has broad support and fuck it up.

Sparklingbrook · 27/10/2021 08:24

That woman on GMB earlier was just embarrassing.

They are now shoring footage of a woman who has glued her hand to the road.

They are all bonkers.

Oblomov21 · 27/10/2021 08:28

These people are idiots and a liability, they are really getting on most peoples nerves now.

andyoldlabour · 27/10/2021 08:29

I fail to see the connection berween house insulation and blocking motorways?
I had my loft and cavities insulated for free years ago - through a government scheme, yet the person responsible for this shitshow hasn't had his house insulated.

Cattitudes · 27/10/2021 08:30

I thought most cars were most efficient at about 55mph. Considering that this is probably around the fastest you can usually drive on the M25 it seems to be doing their job for them.

Dojacatpaws · 27/10/2021 08:34

Andyoldlabour, the connection is climate change
