to be annoyed DH is going on a stag weekend to Amsterdam?

DH is going on a stag weekend after Christmas to Amsterdam and too be honest, I am not too happy about it. I have heard what really goes on and why men go there, i.e. sex shops, brothels, live sex shows etc.

The blokes he is going with are a bunch of knobs. I have heard the majority of them frequent these types of places (only from what DH has said).

DH went on a stag weekend to Edinburgh a few years back and the guy who's stag party it was, was well up for visiting a brothel and guess what? he is going on the stag weekend to Amsterdam .

AIBU to be annoyed about him going? I am feeling a bit down in the dumps today and keep thinking all sorts about what they will get up too.

Whatever happened to guys going for a few beers at the local? It seems the norm for stag weekends to be held abroad nowadays. WHY is that?

Oh I think I'll explain them again, just for a laugh. I put up the information about what is going on in Amsterdam becasue you, yes you, Motherfunk, claimed there was no pimping or trafficking in Amsterdam. I think it was the funniest thing I've read today.

I told DH I didn't want him to go and told him my reasons why & he said "Ok I won't go then" - but I have a gut feeling come nearer the time (March) he will change his mind.

Yes of course they all loved it, I bet...

My Ex was (is) similarly deluded about the women enjoying it, at least from what he's mentioned.

Some of the stories he told me (quite freely I might add) about his adventures were shocking and I am a very easy going and broadminded person generally.

I think men also believe women in porn films are enjoying it too - I think not. How stupid are some men?

I will have to have a look at that NDTH (sorry lazy typing there), sounds very interesting.

The X I'm referring too BTW is not the 'type' you would expect to be paying for sex either. Certainly not the sort who 'needs' to.

My opinion pretty much mirrors yours anniemac
I don't know any prostitutes but I certainly would never judge a woman who did it for a living.

It's not a job I'd ever want to do and that's for sure!

anniemac - I have visited Western Austrailia and heard exactly the same thing about Kalgoorlie - very worrying.

I was in Austrailia in the early 90's (& I don't know if its just me) but found the Aussie men very chauvanistic and sexist & treat their women like shit. Hopefully things have changed since then .

I am sure not all aussie men are the same btw, just the ones I met I think.
