to be annoyed DH is going on a stag weekend to Amsterdam?

DH is going on a stag weekend after Christmas to Amsterdam and too be honest, I am not too happy about it. I have heard what really goes on and why men go there, i.e. sex shops, brothels, live sex shows etc.

The blokes he is going with are a bunch of knobs. I have heard the majority of them frequent these types of places (only from what DH has said).

DH went on a stag weekend to Edinburgh a few years back and the guy who's stag party it was, was well up for visiting a brothel and guess what? he is going on the stag weekend to Amsterdam .

AIBU to be annoyed about him going? I am feeling a bit down in the dumps today and keep thinking all sorts about what they will get up too.

Whatever happened to guys going for a few beers at the local? It seems the norm for stag weekends to be held abroad nowadays. WHY is that?

Ah yes, declariing that there are no pimps or sex trafficking in Amsterdam is talking in "context". I guess that must be a different language from English then because in English that claim, as I said is total bollocks.

Elizabetth - you seem to be implying that if the prostitute was totally happy and fine and not being exploited, then JJ would not have a problem with her DH sleeping with one, which is clearly not the case.

It's not that this thread isn't to do with prostitution, but it certainly didn't start off as being a thread about the rights and wrongs of prostitution.

I agree its about trust totally but some people seem to think that it's stupid to trust someone which is a bit sad in my view.

i'm annoyed that the first assumption about going to Amsterdam was paying for prostitutes and not spending the entire weekend in hash bars eating space cakes.

i would say definitely wait till BF is over, but make sure the hash is Jamaican and not that Dutch crap .

ya know, my first assumption about going to Amsterdam would be getting stoned too, that's always been the appeal in the circles of people I know to visit Amsterdam.

In response to the OP, I think you need to address the lack of trust you have for your DH.

Don't be ridiculous. The exploitation is one aspect of it. Obviously the main issue is Jingly's DH going off with a bunch of blokes, some of whom are clearly wankers, to Amsterdam where brothels will be part of the itinerary.

You're right it didn't, but then MotherFunk came on and started making stupid claims so it seemed a good idea not to let them stand. However there is a moral issue involved in men using prostituted women that never seems to get much of an airing and it is part and parcel of the whole disrespect for women that a stag weekend to Amsterdam or Prague involves.
