The UK is a wonderful place to live

The sun is shining, the birds are singing, why would anyone want to be anywhere else. In fact the 1000s of migrants arriving everyday are a clear indication of how wonderful the UK is under the stewardship of the wise and entertaining Boris Johnson. Just think how awful it would be if Jeremy Corbyn was PM wearing cardigans and still searching for the magic money tree.
Everything is great, the UK is wonderful.

It's pretty shitty but I'm so accustomed to the shitty state of things here that I can't be bothered to upsticks and try and get to know the shit they deal with elsewhere.

@Reallyimeanreally2022

So to the clear She. Your daughter was very ill In icu In hospital for a very extended time

You didn’t feel blessed to be in this country
Where not once do you have to stress about how you’re going to pay for it.

Blessed that she was moved off icu when still unconscious, because there weren't enough beds? Or blessed that her life saving surgery was cancelled and then back on 3 times in 8 hours due to a lack of icu beds in the country?

@Pinkchocolate

What drugs are you taking OP? Apart from my family and friends there is nothing keeping me in this country and I say that as someone born here. It’s grey and cold and/or wet most of the time. During the pandemic people in other countries came together, in England we fought over toilet paper and covid positive people coughed and spat on innocent/non ill people. People recently stabbed each other while queuing to get petrol. Doctors and nurses have gone above and beyond and worked to the bone, for them and many others I am truly grateful. Overall I think when you compare the lifestyle of the majority in England and abroad, England is not a great place to live.
Come on😂 the same story everywhere
Reallyimeanreally2022 · 10/10/2021 18:43

So in my answer to my question

You never felt blessed to be in this country whilst your daughter was very ill and receiving NHS treatment

Because when my daughter was in similar situation, I knew fact that I never had to sign anything, worry about money, trusted implicitly the standard of my doctors…. Felt very blessed

PinkiOcelot · 10/10/2021 18:45

You been sniffing a cork or something?!

1forAll74 · 10/10/2021 18:56

I love the countryside and all the counties, but sadly lots of people have a desire to ruin many things.

2bazookas · 10/10/2021 19:07

People who risk their childrens lives to get to UK in a rubber dinghy, have come from dreadful situations and conditions. OF COURSE they want to be safe in a civilised country where their kids can get medical care and an education .

Doesn't every parent?

Well the hospital building wasn't built by the NHS as it predates it by some years, so I think I should be feeling blessed that the good people at the time gave their money willingly to fund its building?

Its just possible that the underfunding of the NHS means that a building that is nearly 100 years old isn't very suitable to be a hospital anymore. I am sure that 16 year olds feel blessed to be on a mixed sex ward with 18month olds in the next bed.

What we have been blessed with is some hugely dedicated doctors, nurses and other staff. The sonographer who stayed late in the evening to do scans way after her shift ended, the surgeon who comes back in to see patients after he has been home and put his children to bed, the icu bed manager who came in early to nurse my daughter so I could have a break.

If the NHS was properly funded then perhaps these wonderful people wouldn't be so stressed and overworked.

Naively, I thought this would be a genuinely patriotic post when I opened it. Grin

Reallyimeanreally2022 · 10/10/2021 20:05

You’re not willing to answer yes or no whether you felt blessed to receive extensive world class health care for your daughter - without having to sign a thing, let alone stump up a penny.

I think even you’ll acknowledge that this is probably one of your more daft comments on this thread.

I did not feel blessed when the nhs told my daughter there was nothing wrong when she actually had endometriosis

I did not feel blessed when the nhs told my daughter there was nothing wrong when she actually had CFS

I did not feel blessed when the NHS told her she wasn’t allergic to peanuts any more when she fucking well was

I did not feel blessed when the NHS fobbed my MIL off time after time until she eventually died

At no point was this the fault of individual doctors and nurses

we have Boris, no one else has anyone close to his skill set

No arguments there

Absolutely. There is nobody more skilled at lying, blundering, philandering and avoiding responsibility than dear old Alexander.

Its got dark. Its all a big disappointment, if we were really in the sunny uplands with unicorns roaming that we were promised it wouldn't be dark.

Reallyimeanreally2022 healthcare is free at the point of use in lots of first world countries. Obviously the American model is inhumane and horrendous, but plenty of countries provide treatment for their citizens without bills afterwards (or requiring extortionate insurance which not everyone has or payment up front). The funding models in terms of how deductions are made from salaries and how the state covers payments for the non working population vary but at point of use many countries provide free at the point of use healthcare for their citizens without bills for treatment.

TheSunIsStillShining · 10/10/2021 20:28

I am not sure I understand what I mean.
Why wouldn't I wake up every morning delighted to be fortunate enough to call the UK home.
As I sit here now the sun is shining and a flock of crows are circling.

Those are vultures, not crows.
being delusional is not a crime, but people like you should not be allowed to vote.

UntilYourNextHairBrainedScheme · 10/10/2021 20:29

Vultures are rare in the UK, and are not likely to be in a flock. This is because their large size means they need a lot of lift, and we just don't have the mountains for this, plus we don't have the carcasses for them to feed on, but perhaps that will change with the new pig harvest.

Twice, the last time being in July last year an individual bearded vulture has been spotted in the UK.

The UK is wonderful, we don't have vultures.

You are either deliberately acting as someone who has lost their marbles or simply totally oblivious to reality.
Glad to get some insight, didn't know what my life was missing.
Your bar is extremely low that not having vultures sparks this utter joy in you.
Any other imbecile reasons as to why this is such a wonderful country?
