Currently in the process of redecorating my bedroom and itching for inspiration. Would MN be ever so kind to show me their bedroom so I can pinch ideas be inspired by their room? Thanks

Navy walls, bed, bedding and carpet, charcoal grey carpet. Furniture is painted a bright plum colour (chest or drawers and bedsides, wardrobe is built in so doors navy to match walls). I like my room dark and cosy also

@AlphabetAerobics nah, it’s normal to have the saddles on the kitchen chairs isn’t it?

Victorian house so tall ceilings and bay window which has plantation shutters. The walls are Ammonite, radiators are industrial in Downpipe and wardrobes are built in, also in Downpipe. Bed frame is black with two Hemnes draws (hate those). Wooden flooring that’s the same throughout the whole house.

Does no one on mumsnet have any possessions? Why are you all so tidy?

Mine looks like a tip as I have ADHD but I'll try to find one where it is tidy.

Can't post a photo right now because it's currently the safe zone while we deal with fleas (thank you, cats) so it's full of shit.

But very dark green all round, including the built in wardrobe. Copper lamps, handles on wardrobes, and frames on photos. A mid-century dresser and chest of drawers courtesy of my grandma. White bed (doesn't match and we hate it, will be replacing when it breaks which, as it's shite, won't be long!). Horrendous laminate flooring because it's a rental, so covered up with a massive berber-style rug.

Also constantly a mess

Our room is a huge loft so is white all over except for this one wall. Furniture is dark oak, floor is wood. Curtains are a soft mushroom colour with a Japanese type pattern.

I am very happy with it.

Did you paint the bit behind the bed? It's stunning.

F&B hauge blue walls (that I'm going to paint with a dulux colour match as it marks really easily).
Polar white window shutters
White ceiling and woodwork including fitted wardrobes along one wall
White bedding with very dark teal throw
Copper bedside lamps and accessories

Its still a work in progress. Ive got old pale beech laminate flooring that needs to go! Thinking of putting in a grey carpet but not decided.

@Clarice99 I've just googled Linum Paolo and I don't think I paid anywhere near that. Mine was just a John Lewis one (possibly part of their hotel collection).

@Alicesays thank you. It’s wallpaper that I found online. You send the measurements and choose exactly what you want and they send it. Had it professionally hung.

Bit of a tip and too small to be honest! Oatmeal carpet that was there when we bought the house with a large rug in a geometric design of pale blues. Large solid wood (oak) bed frame and headboard, bought from a charity shop. One wall in a textured pale gold metallic wall paper (which on reflection I regret), three walls in a pale blue. Curtains in a maritime print of pale blues and greens and navy blinds. Built in wardrobes on one wall, over the top of the stairs bit. Re-upholstered lloyd loom style blanket box at the foot of the bed (same blue as the walls, dull gold trim and a blue patterned fabric top). Charity shop bedside tables, and a charity-shop large set of wooden drawers. When all the clothes are out away and the surfaces cleared it looks alright!

Wow so many sophisticated bedrooms! I'm not posting mine - it's tiny, looks like a book-stuffed student gaff with fairy lights and posters (I'm 52), and although I'm normally tidy, the floor is covered with clothes as I'm halfway through changing them around for autumn & winter (not enough space to have everything out so the "wrong" season clothes go under the bed).

But it's mine, all mine and I have a big bed to myself (fills most of the room) lovely lilac Heal's bedlinen and millions of pillows. I love it in there! So although I don't really belong on this thread I will say OP that making your bedroom nice is worth the investment.

Here's mine. King size bed. Simple.

Sounds like hell, but I love it! When I'm in bed I just see lots of white which I find very calming and then I see the yellow gold curtains and know that they go with the crazy wallpaper behind me.

How do you get your beds done like that? I spent 10 mins this morning fluffing, straightening my bed and still doesn't look as good as some beds in this thread. Even the cushions look as if it's just thrown even though I tried every angle for it to look perfect

Mine’s pretty neutral, but cosy.

Where did you get that bed throw? I really like it.

Two sets of IKEA Malm drawers, king size bed and DC2's toddler bed, all just about squeezed together along the longest wall and into the alcove.

IKEA bookcase (not Billy, an older style I've forgotten the name of) in the corner, cardboard box that's a temporary laundry basket next to that.

No space for any more furniture!

The walls are bright blue, painted by the previous owner, but we've not long moved in (hence box as laundry basket!), and it's not a priority for redecoration. Bedspread is a pink and brown flowery quilt that my grandmother made for us a few years back. Pillowcases are whichever ones are clean, whether they match or not

Another small but cosy room here with original baked clay tile floors and white bars at the window because we are in Spain. Inherited the bed from my best friend here, but it is super comfy. Weird electrics at the moment (but soon to be sorted) and am not sure how long we will keep that wall colour - although DH does like it. The antique mirror we found in an outbuilding on our land, so sort of restored it. Not everyone's taste am sure but we are renovating slowly and other rooms have come first.
