Currently in the process of redecorating my bedroom and itching for inspiration. Would MN be ever so kind to show me their bedroom so I can pinch ideas be inspired by their room? Thanks

A shit tip Grin
Really need to get rid of some stuff and get good storage furniture. And redecorate and re-carpet.
But I like the colours. Sandy warm gold walls, neutral ancient grubby carpet, sheer curtains in dark red and sandy gold stripes (with a blackout blind behind), dark red duvet cover and pillowcases and usually a pale neutral sheet. I find it warm and grounding.
Oh, and I also have fairy lights despite being well into my 40s.
@Clarice99 I've just googled Linum Paolo and I don't think I paid anywhere near that. Mine was just a John Lewis one (possibly part of their hotel collection).

@RainbowBriteUk if you don't snore then I'll happily kick DH out for you!
It's a good Linum lookalike!

usernameorlan · 03/10/2021 13:19

@TattiePants

I usually stick to light and bright colours but it’s a light room so went for something darker this time.
Where did you get that chest of drawers? Is it roomy inside, with big drawers?
SallyOMalley · 03/10/2021 13:23

@TattiePants is that F&B Vardo? We have that on our 'bed' wall with Ammonite on the other three, paired with Ercol oak furniture.

Our bedroom is in the loft, with a rear dormer which has French doors and a juliet balcony. It faces south so lots of sun. Absolutely love it ... but because of work elsewhere in the house right now it's absolutely not photo ready!

darklindor · 03/10/2021 13:24

whentheearthchanged I'm so drawn to your small but cosy bedroom. This may sound a bit rude, but I wouldn't have chosen anything in it, so why do I love it so much? You have the 'gift'.

TrickyD · 03/10/2021 13:25

A view of a bit of our bedroom from the bed, with Eufy doing its stuff.

@usernameorlan it's from West Elm, part of their Acorn range. If you mean the tall chest of drawers, the drawers fit a folded T-shirt so not huge but they do a few different sizes/models. The drawers next to the bed are probably double the width of the taller unit.

@Biffatcrafts I love that!!!

Biffatcrafts · 03/10/2021 13:31

@SpongebobNoPants Thank you SmileFlowers

TattiePants · 03/10/2021 13:31

@SallyOMalley Vardo was one of the samples I tried originally but it looked very bright turquoise in my room. This is Little Greene's Mid Azure Green.

EspressoDoubleShot · 03/10/2021 13:31

White wooden blinds
White walls
King size bed we all pile into to chat,watch movies,share tablets,read
My extravagance was an expensive duvet, box construction duck down
I have a neomycin diffuser on my side
Wooden blanket box that the kids jump on and in. I frequently find random things in it

Thanks, will take a look. Sounds like it's not big enough as I'm looking for roomy drawers for jumpers and things like that. Lovely though and exactly the style I'm looking for, will check out the link, thanks.

@TattiePants love it. What paint colour are your walls?

buttermutt · 03/10/2021 13:42

@TattiePants I love your green wardrobes

Champersandchocolate · 03/10/2021 13:43

@NotSure1542 Not grey. Grey is out.
Our Edwardian house is black, white, gold, emerald green, with dark chestnut floor.

Our bedroom & en-suite is black and gold theme.

I think the look is classic, it's not like grey that is getting old and will need changing now the trend is up!

Flavabobble · 03/10/2021 13:43

Black wallpaper, black furniture, black curtains, wooden floorboards, white bedding. For all the black, it's quite a bright airy room.

longtompot · 03/10/2021 13:53

Ours is currently Timeless walls, old fashioned floral light brown carpet which was here when we moved in but can't afford to replace, navy blue blackout curtains and cream blackout blinds as its south facing.
We have an Edwardian style black and brass bed, old pine chest of drawers and wardrobe and a newer pine chest of drawers. I use our bedding as the colour in the room so they are all quite patterned.

TattiePants · 03/10/2021 13:54

@DrGoogleSaysSo thank you, it's Little Greene's Mid Azure Green.

@buttermutt they're the original wardrobes that were here when we moved in 15 years ago. We just keep painting them different colours!

TheLovelinessOfDemons · 03/10/2021 13:57

Red and gold rag rolled walls, done by DH, he's an ex decorator
Green floorboards
Duvet whatever colour's clean, mostly grey and dark blue
Cream curtains

ShinyMe · 03/10/2021 13:58

@Thulian

Wow so many sophisticated bedrooms! I'm not posting mine - it's tiny, looks like a book-stuffed student gaff with fairy lights and posters (I'm 52), and although I'm normally tidy, the floor is covered with clothes as I'm halfway through changing them around for autumn & winter (not enough space to have everything out so the "wrong" season clothes go under the bed).

But it's mine, all mine and I have a big bed to myself (fills most of the room) lovely lilac Heal's bedlinen and millions of pillows. I love it in there! So although I don't really belong on this thread Blush I will say OP that making your bedroom nice is worth the investment.

Mine is the same. Piles of books, some posters from childhood, a pile of clothes on a chair. Piles of shoes near the wardrobe. And old carpet I didn't choose but isn't so bad it needs replacing yet, plants on every available surface, too much cat hair... Mine is definitely no show home. Some of the bedrooms here are beautiful, but don't look as though anyone lives in them!
