@whentheearthchanged

Small but I love it, so cosy.
Love this wallpaper - do you remember what it is? Smile

Plain wooden floor, a cream cotton rug ,pale blue floor length curtains, a dark blue two seater carved swan sofa in the bay window, very pale blue cherry blossom wallpaper on the alcoves wall, rest of the room painted cream, a vintage stripped pine chest of drawers in one alcove, a vintage stripped pine cupboard in the other ( linen cupboard) , bed dressed in white vintage Irish linen and a blue quilted throw folded at the foot. No wardrobe, I have a small wardrobe on the landing and another one in a spare bedroom. I have a number of good monochrome prints and a long mirror. A low shelf unit at the foot of the bed with my current reading pile on the top shelf and display (!) shoes on the bottom.

The little sofa was the starting point, I saw it in an independent upholsterers , he covered it in my choice of fabric and that was it! The sofa has a red silk cushion given to me by my former TA , now sadly died . The room gets afternoon sun, and the sofa is the perfect place for reading and people watching .

Watching for ideas- we're moving and I want a fresh start!

I'm thinking mid-century mod wood bed, maybe with built in side tables. I'm a fan of pink sheets/bedding because I think they're flattering to my skin tone Wink

I have a pink Moroccan style rug I think we'll put under the bed, and a couple cream lamps with gold accents. I'm mulling a chinoiserie mural or wallpaper that covers the wall behind the bed.

There are some lovely rooms on here!

@Armychefbethebest

This is mine not to everyone's taste but we love it x
That is gorgeous

Big wardrobe. Grey soft carpet, I need carpet in the bedroom.

HelloCanYouHearMe · 03/10/2021 07:52

Wooden floor, white furniture, blush pink on walls x3, navy on remaining wall

barbrahunter · 03/10/2021 08:13

Such lovely bedrooms! I'm picking up lots of ideas from this thread

Bouledeneige · 03/10/2021 08:19

I have old floorboard wooden floors, v pale blue/grey walls, white built ins and a white linen bed head, antique chests of drawers - and a blush occasional chair. I currently have wooden Venetian blinds but will replace them with pale floor length curtains when budget permits.

RoyKentsHairyBack · 03/10/2021 08:27

@Fupoffyagrasshole we have the same colour and the same furniture

However unlike yours we have a tiny patch of mould in the corner, a ceiling which is papered in a textured paper which I think was put up when the house was built in 1979 which is starting to come down plus the most pointless built in wardrobe which is way too deep but too short and has lots of wasted space you can't access.

Also some flaking plaster around the window and curtains bought from Argos for a tenner as an emergency when we first moved in and are still there 8 years later.

We are slowly moving round the house and revamping each room and this one is next. However it will be so disruptive and we will need a builder who will do a small job (pulling out the wardrobe - it's really built into the stair wall and dh is worried he'll damage it if he does it) plus a plasterer, both of which are like gold dust. So I keep putting it off.

When we do I quite fancy something green but a warm and cosy green. I am off to get inspo!

Glad you posted this op, I’m in the process of ripping out my wardrobes to redo our bedroom. My room is pretty small so I plan on having IKEA malm bedside table and chest of drawers, 1x100cm pax wardrobe.
I’m thinking of painting the walls a pale grey and then using dusky pink as an accent colour. Not 100% yet though, looking forward to seeing some inspiration in this thread x

TattiePants · 03/10/2021 08:58

I usually stick to light and bright colours but it’s a light room so went for something darker this time.

@TattiePants your bedroom is perfect!!! Woah, it is beautiful!

rainbowmash · 03/10/2021 09:08

@Samanabanana

Navy blue all over, including built in furniture. Dark and cosy!
This actually sounds gorgeous!
TheTurn0fTheScrew · 03/10/2021 09:10

Decorating ours now, so no pictures. We're keeping the black iron bedstead. Carpet will be biscuit coloured seagrass, and the walls will be a half-decent B&Q copy of the William Morris Boughs wallpaper. Going for wallpaper on all the walls below the picture rail for a change. Accessories TBC once the paper is up.

SpongebobNoPants · 03/10/2021 09:13

My house overall has a lot of bold colours and quirky decor that have very personal connections to our lives. Friends always comment describing it as warm and inviting. We've taken a different path with our bedroom. Although we have pattern and texture, with a mid century style cut into with very modern lamps, the colours are neutral in the bedroom. At the moment the walls are still bare. Whilst it feels a little cold to me, I'm going to sit with it for a while. I'm contemplating just bringing in some plants and keeping it really simple.

I don't want to share a pic, but our bedroom is just for sleeping/relaxing, so it has a big bed and bedside tables, a big chair and coffee table. Dressing/changing happens elsewhere, so there's no clutter. It has a big window.

GoBubbles · 03/10/2021 09:16

Mine is reasonably large, a small walk in closet, natural jute carpet, white ceiling, warm pale grey walls (little greene paint), a habitat chaise long in a bay window, a white ikea chest of drawers, white giant bed and built in white cupboards, with too many photos and paintings piled on them. Lots of green plants and a palm. Junk under the bed.

Simonjt · 03/10/2021 09:19

Our bedroom is quite big and its a good shape, we have a black metal framed four poster with cream voiles, the wall behind the headboard is clad in reclaimed oak, the wall at the foot of the bed is fitted shaker wardrobes with the central door being the door to the en-suite. The window wall is original brickwork and original industrial windows, the wall with the bedroom door on is a classic cream. The flooring is the original wooden flooring, we have a thin cotton rug under the bed that stretches out arouns two feet around the bed. Either side of the bed we have Tom Dixon mini melt copper pendant lights. We also have the original black fin tube radiators.

MatildaTheCat · 03/10/2021 09:21

Our room is a huge loft so is white all over except for this one wall. Furniture is dark oak, floor is wood. Curtains are a soft mushroom colour with a Japanese type pattern.

I am very happy with it.

The last owner turned two decent sized bedrooms into one for some bizarre reason and left the door in so I'm saving up to have it divided into two again.
One end is my office space and the other end is my cosy bedroom cottage style with lots of blankets, throws, pillows, a tv.
It is not relaxing looking at my office when I'm in bed so that wall is going up asap.

burritofan · 03/10/2021 09:38

@Armychefbethebest I love your bedroom!

So much good inspo here. We live in a fixer-upper and our bedroom is the staging area for all the DIY crap/things moved out of other rooms while they’re worked on. Its features include a damp stain on the ceiling and a broken hearth stone. 😭

Brogues · 03/10/2021 09:41

Neural carpet, grey walls with Cole & Sons Orchid wallpaper. Cherry wood wardrobes, bed, drawers, coffee table and small antique tan leather sofa and chair. Chrome and white lights in the same shape as the orchids in the paper and grey curtains that were only ever meant to be temporary but 9 years later are still here. White bedding with grey knitted throw and cushions. Very calming.
