London still out of fuel - because it doesn't vote Tory

Where I live, South London, it is still impossible to get fuel. Most petrol stations are closed, the ones that are open have hours-long queues. The queueing cars are blocking the roads, it's a nightmare.

Every news outlet keeps saying the crisis is easing. I don't see any signs of that. It's pure gaslighting. I get it, media try not to report shortages in order not to cause shortages, but I'd like some actual information, not lies?

What I think is that the Tory government will prioritise, in terms of fixing the supply chain breakdowns, the areas of the country that vote Tory, and will abandon metropolitan areas that increasingly shift to the left in their voting patterns.

AIBU - Tory don't care about London - or Manchester (anyone?); it's not their base
YANBU - where there is fuel and where there isn't is completely random

@welshladywhois40

Have you considered that maybe London isn't a priority due to availability of public transport?

Imagine what's it like in a rural area with very little public transport - I hope they are getting more deliveries

Right yeah of course. Food and medicine can be delivered by public transport - to a city of 9 million people (many of whom came to London from other parts of the UK).

Electricians, plumbers, doctors and nurses working unsocial hours. They need to drive.

London has more elderly and disabled people than any other part of the UK. People who rely on cars to get to hospital and other essential outings - and who need carers to visit them.

Oh and (because people from the rest of the UK came to London) the public transport system is very overcrowded. There's no capacity for all the car drivers to suddenly switch.

Managed to get petrol today without queuing - in Liverpool.
So I think that probably undermines your suggestion!

Did the OP come back? (Or perhaps she's still queuing for petrol).

@SkiingIsHeaven

Another numb scull labour supporter trying to blame anything on the Tory's.

What is wrong with you?

It is raining here and I need to go out. Is that the Tory's fault that I will need to take an umbrella?

It is generally a good idea to check one's own intelligence before accusing others of lacking it.

It's 'numbskull', not 'numb scull'
It's 'Tories', not 'Tory's'
'Labour' is always spelt with a capital 'L' when referring to the political party.
