to think that the fuel 'issue' is over?

I've been driving around a bit this morning and have passed a few garages that seem to have normal numbers of cars on their forecourts and the queues have gone. AIBU to think that it is over? Or is your area still struggling?

YABU - still problems here
YANBU - all over

(sorry for the poll- like requests, I've been overthinking it and confused myself)

I never saw any queues and haven't been out yet today but the 3 garages I pass on the way to/from work didn't have any yesterday or the day before and going by the posts on local facebook groups they aren't alone.

Peanutsandchilli · 30/09/2021 15:18

West Yorkshire, local petrol station was closed for one day. Small queue once it reopened, but yesterday there were two cars at the pumps and no queue. Seemed normal to me.

Elliania · 30/09/2021 15:22

Definitely not over here! My partner was in the red so he went & queued for an hour to get about 2/3rds of a tank which hopefully will last us for a while.

Lougle · 30/09/2021 15:22

Hampshire village - queues back to the village before (1.5 miles) before the petrol station even opened. 2 fuel tankers got stuck in the queues!

Wotrewelookinat · 30/09/2021 15:24

Still issues here in coastal Suffolk. When fuel stations get deliveries there are endless queues and then they sell out, and several places haven’t had an6 fuel for days.

luckylavender · 30/09/2021 15:25

Not in the SE

Fireplace12 · 30/09/2021 15:26

It’s been ok in east Yorkshire since Sunday.

LIZS · 30/09/2021 15:31

Most around here SE still out or only limited amounts and deliveries. Queued for over half an hour earlier having driven past two without any today.

MedusasBadHairDay · 30/09/2021 15:33

DH drove round 5 or 6 petrol stations here earlier and they were all closed/empty- so now he can't work. He's got enough fuel to get his van to a job but not enough to get back, and can't risk going on the off chance he finds a petrol station that has fuel

8dpwoah · 30/09/2021 15:41

I noticed the BP garage that was closed yesterday was open today with just a car at each pump, so busier than normal for a weekday lunchtime, but not madness. West Mids.

waybill · 30/09/2021 15:52

I've driven past four garage forecourts today. Three were closed and the fourth had a monumental queue.

Got back to my town and all three garages near here are shut.

3 nearest garages to us are closed and have been for days. Big queues at the 4th and 5th ones I went to, although did decide to fill up at 5th one as I was getting desperate. They only had unleaded , no diesel
Central Shropshire.

MedusasBadHairDay · 30/09/2021 16:05

Looks like diesel is hardest to get locally. Not that unleaded is exactly easy.

KitchenDancefloor · 30/09/2021 16:06

Kent here and it's awful. We always get the brunt of travel disruptions in this corner of the country, with protests, lorry queues, ferry queues, etc.

5 petrol stations I tried at 6.30am had no fuel.

1 had a queue so long it blocked main routes and it wasn't clear if the queue was moving or if people were there in anticipation of a delivery (couldn't get within 1/2 mile of the forecourt to see).

1 only had diesel (lucky for me) and a half hour queue.

I want to move to Scotland. With Kent's weather please 😊

Evenstar · 30/09/2021 16:08

South East here, barely any fuel and huge queues where there is any.

BigPyjamas · 30/09/2021 16:11

Bad in the East, most stations seem empty. Perhaps 2/10 open all with queues and amount limits

zafferana · 30/09/2021 16:14

It's not bloody over where I live! I went to Sainsbury's this morning to do some shopping and thought 'Oh the petrol station looks fine - only 6 cars and someone in a high vis controlling things' ... then I drove round the corner and saw a queue all round the car park! I should think there were 20 or more cars waiting to fill up. The fuel crisis is over - my arse!

zafferana · 30/09/2021 16:14

That's in the Home Counties btw.

Heatherjayne1972 · 30/09/2021 16:15

I got petrol easily this lunchtime although there was a £30 limit. No queue just a normal amount of cars on the forecourt
However all the diesel pumps were out of action

Oh I’m in the southeast Thames valley area

ExConstance · 30/09/2021 16:29

My bit of Gloucestershire is back to normal now too.

Lemons1571 · 30/09/2021 16:30

South central / Thames Valley market town - dry of all fuel here. There was both petrol and diesel in Tesco about 9am but it went by 11am and no one has had a delivery since.

Whitewolf2 · 30/09/2021 16:36

Long queues here in Cambridgeshire still.

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 30/09/2021 16:37

London - it’s still ongoing

Bedsheets4knickers · 30/09/2021 16:38

All fine in west Essex today
