To be glad it’s cold and wet?

I have been waiting for the whole of September for it to finally feel like autumn! I was getting so fed up of being hot and sweaty- it’s September, I want to be in jumpers and scarves and boots! I feel so cosy when it’s grey and wet outside. Obviously I don’t want it to piss it down all the time, but I don’t mind the odd bit of rain. And I definitely prefer the cold and the dark (great, I’ve made myself sound like some sort of sewer creature).

I love the calmness of autumn & winter. I find summer too intense- not just the heat but the fact that there’s so much going on all the time, it gets too much for me. I work in an industry that changes noticeably with the seasons. There’s less going on in the colder months, less stuff to go wrong, so less stress for me.

I have genuinely noticed how much better a mood I’ve been in the last couple of days since it’s gone cooler.

Yup I put an extra t-shirt on today. Coffee in the Sainsbury's café to warm me up before braving the cold again.

This whole summer has been pretty kind in the North East, I still hated it but it hasn't been above 30 once I don't think.

You can all just sod off! I've been convincing myself that our warm September is an extension of summer.
You can keep your dank, wet, dark days and your big hairy jumpers.

Roll on spring. Off to dig out my SAD lamp and tick off the days to end of March when the clocks go forward and the trees are budding.

I love the Autumn, especially the dry, bright crisp mornings.Adore the colours of the leaves, find the trees breathtaking.However, I hate November., the longest, dullest month of the year, in which is usually pours every day.I adore Spring too.Summer is also my least favourite season, even though all of us in our house are Summer babies.

Love Autumn (but also love Daddy Long Legs unlike a couple of posters 😁, so am sorry to see them go) . The hot weather doesn’t suit me, I love a bit of October weather.

Me too! I love Autumn, it's my favourite season.

Summer is ok but like you, I struggle a bit with the heat.

Spring is my next favourite, I love it when you get the first smell of it on the wind.

You can love it if you like. But can we stop all this rubbish about crisp days and crunchy leaves? It’ll be grey and miserable and there’s already a massive layer of leaves turned to mush by the rain after one day. They’re just a slip hazard and there’ll be no crunching.
Also jumpers are shit and itchy.

I love being able to just bung on flip flops in summer and can't be arsed keeping winter boots clean. There's nothing for me that compares to feeling fresh grass between my toes on a warm summer morning. However I don't mind the change in seasons much, I do quite enjoy seeing the contrasting autumnal colours and nice warming food and all the other joys of colder weather as long as I make an effort to pay attention to them.
On the other hand i know that by January I'll be hankering for some warm sun on my face again. I think I just like change

Yabu. I'm fucking depressed, cold, my gutters are leaking.

I can expect months of sinking into ever deeper depression, suicidal misery and despair, in cold and darkness.

But hey, as long as you can wank on about cosy jumpers.

Oh, come on Sorry you're having a bad time, but other people being happy to finally be able to breathe cool air will make no practical difference to your life.

Lover of the 'ber' months here too! Don't enjoy summer at all.

I wouldn’t mind autumn if there were lots of bright days, but the U.K. has far too many grey days. It’s the greyness that sinks my spirits. But we like what we like and a U.K. autumn and winter is not for me. Jealous of you autumn/winter lovers at this time of year!

I hate it - the dark nights make me gloomy and the wet/dampness makes my asthma worse
