to just be sick of men..

Caught by accident two family men known to me discussing how they'd 'got their own pictures' of a dance teacher who was teaching their 6 year old daughters. They were with their wives and children, both supposedly Christian - both in their early 30s so not a generational thing as is often trotted out. It occured to me that when they were dating their wives they would have been MORTIFIED for these new shiny women to hear them being so gross yet now the wives have committed, given them children, become part of the furniture they are supposed to listen to any old shit.
And yes, I know that there are loads of you who will say 'my DH /DP would never dream of doing this' so obviously I am not talking about them- is anyone else just fed up of continually being disappointed even by men you previously liked or trusted?
I know I am being ranty but i'm going with it!

@SJWsAtItAgain

Sexual harassment of women by men is endemic. Women are allowed to acknowledge this.

Who says women aren't? Of course they should.

You. And everyone like you, who tries to shut down discussion of how women, as a class, are subject to predatory behaviour by men, as a class. Don't be so disingenuous as to pretend otherwise.
Clocktopus · 21/09/2021 17:02

And I’m sure there are lots of men who are just sick of women for X, Y and X.

Men: "I'm so sick of women parking badly, spending money on handbags, and not dropping everything to give me a blowie five times a day"

Women: "I'm so sick of men being responsible for the majority of violent crime, sexual crimes, and domestic abuse "

Yup, those two things are exactly the same.

FrippEnos · 21/09/2021 17:02

YABU for the title.

The rest not so much.

IMO you are being naïve if you think that "Christian" men are better than others of this ilk. IME religious people are the worst for hypocrisy.

Clocktopus · 21/09/2021 17:04

This.

We can't have the discussion about what happens and why it's not acceptable because as soon as we do we get NAMALT'd and we get reminded that "men are victims too" and "women are just as bad", then it gets derailed because a group of women had the audacity not to centre men in their discussion of an issue that predominantly negatively affects women.

🙄
Point to it! Tell me where I've said it. Where's your evidence? Don't be a hypocrite.

(Again, I'm trying not to derail this thread but if you address me, I may answer.)

FromBeanToCupYouFuckUp · 21/09/2021 17:08

You'd think that, if there was a god, he'd have come up with something better than men.

Yeah, but how many times have you heard women sharing creepshots they've taken of their kids' PE teacher?

SJWsAtItAgain · 21/09/2021 17:16

Don't be so disingenuous and dramatic. If OP didn't have the generalised 'men' in her title (typical mn klaxon), the pp wouldn't have posted and I wouldn't have read the hypocritical replies (knowing for sure the opposite is often the case in other threads). That's what I replied to. No one has said women shouldn't talk about women's issues. You have absolutely no idea what I do or don't talk about. I'm not the one derailing the thread. Defensive posters like you are the ones derailing it because god forbid we call out women when they speak. Simply ignore me if I'm so wrong.

Well that may be you but that rarely happens on mn. Most who harp on about all men would die on the hill of 'not all white women' or 'not all white people', even when it's obvious. I suppose it isn't fun when you're part of the group being talked about, eh?

Hypocrites.

WizardOfAus · 21/09/2021 17:22

You only need to look around at this depressing world to see why men have no issues objectifying women in this way.

Boys can now access extreme and violent porn in the palm of their hands

The depressing rise of OnlyFans

Strip clubs

Sleaze-filled stag dos

Prostitution

WhatsApp groups of men swapping revolting pics and videos

Donald “grab her by the pussy” Trump being elected president

The taliban getting back in power

The rise of the Incels

Objectifying rags like the DailyMail, the Sun, etc

Sugar Daddy and other illicit encounter websites

Real sex dolls and VR porn

I could go on and on and on.

I don’t know what the solution is, perhaps more women in government and in positions of power.

Some days I honestly feel like, despite “Me Too”, our society is getting worse for women - not better.

I have boys and I will do my absolute best to raise them to respect women, but I do worry that this patriarchal society has a different plan in store, one that teaches them sexual entitlement and blithe objectification of women.

YouJustDoYou · 21/09/2021 17:23

I got added to a new parents whatsapp group that was already a few months old for my.5 year old's Reception class (they're now yr1). The dads in there...holy moses. Going on about being "DILFS" , apparently they were posting cleavage shots in the summer of hot women that "looked like one of the single mums", they regularly go on about getting wasted, try to hook up.with any single female...they're vile. And nothing new.

IWantT0BreakFree · 21/09/2021 17:24

Any group is entitled to speak in general terms about another group that overwhelmingly perpetrates violence and hatred against them. We are allowed to acknowledge and speak about patterns of behaviour when we observe them and are not obligated to pretend that they don't exist and that anybody might be behave like this 🙄 No. Men behave like this.

There are often threads where black people discuss the racism they face from white people. I'm white and have never racially abused anyone, however I am not a total arse and therefore I realise that black people have a right to name and discuss their oppressors. And I DO belong to that oppressor group.

Women are allowed to speak about their oppressor group (men). If you don't like it then tough, I'm afraid.

noprofessional · 21/09/2021 17:26

It's grim. I despair for my sons and I feel overwhelmed by the task of making sure I don't raise disgusting misogynistic pigs.

You seem to be getting bent out of shape about a scenario that you've just made up.
Mybalconyiscracking · 21/09/2021 17:28

Well, having a lovely trip to celebrate 20 years married to someone who is definitely a man. This behaviour would be as alien to him as it is to me, for that reason I will always bristle when men are lumped into a group.

But yes there are some revolting, sexist, entitled twats out there. Not arguing that.

AMALT · 21/09/2021 17:28

@MissLucyEyelesbarrow that cartoon is PERFECT Grin

both for @SJWsAtItAgain and men in general

comingintomyown · 21/09/2021 17:28

@rocklamp

You'd think that, if there was a god, he'd have come up with something better than men. They never fail to disappoint, in my experience.

Middle aged ones are often remarkably stroppy. They must feel themselves declining and set out to prove they're still virile or something. The government should put something in the water to shut them up.

Put something in the water that made me roar !! Oh and yes men are largely a disappointing breed in my view
AICM · 21/09/2021 17:32

@HesterShaw1

YANBU.

I'm sick of the lot of them. And if it hurts some men's feelz who are not all like that, so bloody what?

Not all men are like that

And I’m sure there are lots of men who are just sick of women for X, Y and X.

Men aren’t one homogeneous group so don’t treat them like one.

This is a website for women.

An awful lot of men are horrible and this bothers a lot of women.

If you don't want to hear women talking about things that bother women then 'off elsewhere.

AICM · 21/09/2021 17:41

@Recessed

*They are, however, responsible for over 80% of violent crime, 98% of sexual offences & manage to murder the equivalent of 3 women every week in the UK!

Yes OP, any woman paying attention is sick of men &, sadly, if more women faced the facts, rather than attempting to shut down this conversation with ridiculous false equivalences, we could actually start to tackle the scourge of male violence & entitlement.*

Articulated perfectly IMO

What percentage of men commit violent crime? 5%?
