To not shower everyday?

Especially if you don't work full time or leave the house everyday. Sometimes I prefer to shower in the evenings so I feel fresh before going to bed, other days if I'm going out I will have a shower in the morning or If I wake up earlier before the kids i have one then. I don't always wash my hair I don't always shower everyday if I am just at home and exhausted. Just wondering how honest everyone will be or do people literally shower everyday/twice a day without fail even if they don't leave their home. Obviously excluding when the weather the hot.

I shower or bath every day but not necessarily in the morning. Mornings are a rush for me...I'm a sahm of school age dc...I sometimes have my shower or bath while they're at school instead

Me personally I have to shower twice a day, that's my personal preference. However, I wouldn't find it at all an issue if someone else didn't shower every day and it was every other day. It's personal preference.

Every other day for me unless I need it (exercise etc) and I wash my hair once or twice a week. I have very thick wavy hair so if I washed it every day I'd get nothing done lol.

I shower every day that I'm working or out the house doing something, but if I'm having a day off and just pottering round the house, going shopping or out for a walk on my own I often won't bother, I always wear clean clothes and I don't smell.

I shower every morning. Doesn't take long, but it can feel like a chore of your not in the habit.

I like to be fresh out the shower when I put on clean clothes but you'll be fine if you shower every other day, if your otherwise clean.

I shower daily even if just at home, but I am perimenopausal and get hot flushes that can make me feel less than fresh.

I don't shower every day. I don't even wash every day. But i rarely leave the house (mh issues) and sometimes having a wash uses more energy than I have.

My eczema is much better since I stopped showering daily and my hair is nicer too.

Growing up. very few homes had showers, daily baths certainly weren't a thing.

Personally I don’t think women tend to need to shower every day. I don’t because it always seems to wet/ humidify my hair to some extent, but I’ll have a stand up wash on the alternate day when I don’t have a shower.

I hate showers anyway, much prefer a bath. Although when I was working out of the house I did shower for speed. Now I wfh full time I’ll have a bath every other day and wash in between. But then I don’t have a partner. To be totally blunt, I think you do need to shower more if you have a sex life! (I personally have forgotten what that feels like!).

I wouldn’t judge anyone who doesn’t but personally I have to shower every day. Very occasionally I don’t if I’m not going anywhere or am ill or whatever but I just feel really minging if I haven’t- but then I do get quite sweaty 😬 and my hair needs a daily wash. Not everyone is the same. I really don’t feel ready for the day / able to socialise unless I’ve had my daily shower!

It’s a bit like shaving I guess - if I don’t shave my legs every day there is stubble (not that I always do, they’re often unkempt!) but others could go several days with no re growth. Similarly I guess some people will get greasy / smelly quicker than others

I have curly hair that needs to get wet every morning or it looks matted so I shower every morning. I'm used to it so would feel grungy without but I'm sure I'd be fine.

There's an impression on here that MN users are obsessively clean. In my experience people love to openly brag about how filthy they are. And then when they do shower they don't wash themselves entirely because "the water and soap goes down your body anyway."

I’d say I shower 6-7 times a week on average. I’ll miss the odd one but given it only takes a few minutes I usually do regardless.

Face is washed twice a day without fail and teeth are always brushed twice a day without fail. Hands several times a day. I wouldn’t not shower if I smelt though.

One of the worst smells is someone who hasn't showered but applied perfume regardless.

I'm not saying you do that though.

Shower/bath every day, it makes me feel nice and refreshed.

No the clean freaks come out on the threads about shoes indoors, toilet lids up or down, and laundry frequency

When I was growing up in the 60's and 70's I didn't know anyone with a shower, we all had a bath tub. Can you imagine a family of even just 4 having 2 baths a day each, or even once a day?! We only had a small hot water tank on an immersion heater, that was never going to happen!

And contrary to a PP's statement that "you will smell" if you don't shower every day all I can say is that's utter nonsense.
