To ask does anyone else have this other bloody virus?

Sore throat, hacking cough, bit of a cold but not much, feeling wiped out but just not getting any better? I’m up all night coughing and can hardly swallow.

Continually testing negative for Covid via lateral flow and have taken a PCR?

DS has now gone down with it. Tested negative with a lateral flow yesterday but am booking him in for a PCR today.

Yes, it was so bad we thought it might be Covid-21 and hoped someone was looking out for it. One of us had to have their oxygen levels checked.

I had it a month ago. Negative LFTs taken every day out of paranoia. It's still wreaking havoc with my asthma. Lots of people I know are also coming down with it.

It's been reported that respiratory syncytial virus is going around.
With less distancing and less masks, other common viruses are coming back.

My dc are dropping like flies with it.
Starts with what they describe as a dry throat, then sore throat, cold & flu, cough.
All negative for covid - I was amazed at the first test. Really thought this was it

Ds(17) just had a nasty virus. 5 negative LFT and a negative PCR.

A friend he was with tested positive for Covid after the same event.

Ds had high fever, sore throat, coughed if talking and bed ridden for 3 days. Now fever broken, cough reduced and out of bed but a big snotty congested mess.

When he has had a virus the snotty part normally lasts a while for him. Going to be uncomfortable going back to school and wearing a mask all day!

Yes, I've got it and it's my birthday today. The two eldest DS's have it and youngest is just getting over it.

Yes my DH currently has it. I was convinced it was Covid, but he has taken a few lateral flow tests and a PCR and all have come back negative. I also have a stomach bug which has lasted 6 days and lost 4 pounds (at least it's kick started my WW journey!).

I had this over the summer it was awful. I did 6 pcrs over 2 weeks (we were isolating anyway as daughter had covid) and I could not believe it wasn't covid. I did daily lfts and all the pcrs so it must have been thos bug.

Does anyone have the cough/sore throat without the runny nose/cold? I can hardly speak my throat’s so sore and coughing like nothing else, but no cold symptoms (yet).

My son did. No snot or sneezing but coughing and horrible sore throat he was drooling.

We've all had it too. 5 year old, 7 year old, 18 year old and DH and me.
Started off as a temperature in the youngest but everyone else just had the hacking cough, runny noses and sore throat.
Everyone at school seems to have it too.
All PCRs negative.

Yes, had this late August! Was out shopping and everyone was coughing with the awful cough - couldn't believe it wasn't covid! Lo and behold, couple of days later whole family had come down with this cough/flu too.

Snot, cough, breathlessness, aching rib cage, worn out. It was 19° yesterday but I got in the bath I was so ruined.
Guess where I work. We're seeing that 2 day off pattern too where students who have tested negative are being sent back in.

All LFTs and PCRs are negative. I'm amazed it's not covid given how rampant it currently is in their school.

DH is starting to sneeze this morning, no doubt he'll have it worse than anyone

Yeah we've all had it, too, and DH now has it. He is not doing well at all, poor lamb. MUCH worse than any of us had it. Lots of sighing going on and I am losing my mind. Good luck to you!!!

Tell you for sure tomorrow but yes, I think so. My pcr is negative and the other 3 members of the household are just being tested now.
The only good thing about it is that dh now sounds like Barry White when he speaks.

Yes, it’s gone through work and home. Nobody has had a positive pcr, which is some relief, I suppose. But the cough can do one.

I think my daughter could be starting with this. Negative lateral flow test but hacking cough.

Yup,DS1 is currently on round 2 of it, I'm still in the first bout. Luckily everyone else has escaped.

My DD has this, not surprising though as she has been at uni one week. Daily covid tests all negative.

Sore throat, absolutely hacking cough, sweats. Now the snottiest nose ever and usual horrid congestion.

No muscle pain so not a flu but definitely the worse cough/cold we’ve had. 2 LFTs and an PCR over the last week all neg.

Same here. Have had it for 6 weeks and not resolving. Gone from running 10 miles a week to struggling to walk upstairs. Have now got tonsillitis so on 8 tablets a day for 10 days. Cream bloody crackered I am !

Same here. On day three of night nurse / day nurse / negative LFTs. Yesterday I slept for 14 hours off and on and still didn’t feel human. Steamy eucalyptus bath did nothing either.

It’s rotten and you have my sympathy. Definitely stuff going round.

Absolutely! Seems to spread quite easily as whole family have got it. Constantly testing!
