How often do you and your dc eat McDonald's?

I don't drive and there isn't one within walking distance so for us it's a rare thing on day trips. I'd have one more often as I'm rather partial to a McFlurry or a veggie deluxe meal and dc think it's the height of excitement Grin and think I'm a bit mean that we can't have one as often as their friends. Is it a treat? A regular thing? Just something quick and cheap to grab? No judgement from me, just curious as to what's normal as apparently I'm not normal 😂

I've had to give it up entirely to lose weight. Bloody love McD though!
My teens 2-3x per month

SpottyStripyDuvet · 08/09/2021 13:45

We have one 200 yards from our house. Managed to avoid it until DS was in reception but then couldn't avoid walking past it twice a day. It is now a once a month thing!

FrownedUpon · 08/09/2021 13:45

Never. Really don’t like it.

Freetodowhatiwant · 08/09/2021 13:45

Pretty much never. It's not that we are obsessed with health or anti-McDonald's - they have other junk food like a Subway and also pizza - but McDonald's is something I have never really had on my radar. I reckon they do have a Burger King about twice a year.

RobinPenguins · 08/09/2021 13:46

Once every six months or so? We’re more likely to go out for a cheap Italian or something as a family.

megletthesecond · 08/09/2021 13:46

Once a month probably.
They eat it, I don't.

FunnysInLaJardin · 08/09/2021 13:47

The last time we had a McDonalds was in France about 7 years ago.

None of us are bothered at all tbh

allfurcoatnoknickers · 08/09/2021 13:47

Never because there isn't one near us! We're right by a Shake Shack though, and probably get that about 4/5 times a year. 😋

yourfavouritemuggle · 08/09/2021 13:48

Once or twice a month!

44PumpLane · 08/09/2021 13:48

We have been twice in the past week but before that it was probably over 6 months since we last went.

We tend not to go to McD's then go a couoke times in quick succession due to travelling. We just tend to get nuggets or fish fingers for the kids if we are driving somewhere and we aren't prepared with a packed lunch.

hashbrownsandwich · 08/09/2021 13:48

I've always failed to see how McDonalds can be a ' treat?'

It's just poor quality food shoved in a bag.

icedcoffees · 08/09/2021 13:49

Not very often as our nearest is a 40 minute drive away.

OkyDoke · 08/09/2021 13:49

Once or twice a month but he doesn't eat any other takeaways

CMOTDibbler · 08/09/2021 13:49

3 times a year ish? Its 7 miles to our nearest one so its only ever something had when we are out for the day anyway

MattyGroves · 08/09/2021 13:50

We do it for the kids occasionally when travelling as a safe, quick and easy choice. I don't really like it for myself

Comedycook · 08/09/2021 13:50

Maybe once or twice a month. It's treat for the dc. I quite like it but it's not a treat for me...more a convenience thing if I'm tired!

My dd loves the breakfasts there more than anything else

FlorenceWintle · 08/09/2021 13:50

Once a month I guess. But categorised as a treat, not part of our normal routine.

BeaBeaBuzz · 08/09/2021 13:51

Couple of times a month, but we eat out in other places a lot. I might have one a month without the kids too 😂

nokidshere · 08/09/2021 13:51

Not often these days but my teenagers brought one home at midnight last night - it was yum!

crystalspiders · 08/09/2021 13:53

A couple of times a month as a family, but if I get child free time I get myself one as a treat

80sMum · 08/09/2021 13:54

I only usually eat there when there are no other options, such as when travelling and need to stop en route to eat.

Comedycook · 08/09/2021 13:55

I don't even think it's that bad or unhealthy. My dd usually has a wrap, chips and an orange juice. Or for the breakfast, she has a bacon roll, hash brown and a hot chocolate. Ok, it's not oily fish and quinoa but these are all perfectly normal foods I'd give her at home

DrinkFeckArseBrick · 08/09/2021 13:55

Never. My kids prefer the chunky chip shop chips and dont like burgers so there doesnt seem much point for nuggets which are just the same as those ready from the freezer in 15 min. There is one a short walk from me. But they have fish and chips or similar once a fortnight...

Smeds · 08/09/2021 13:55

We've been twice in 4 years. Its not really on my 6 year old's radar.

Costa however...

EgSk · 08/09/2021 13:55

My 2.5 year old has had it twice . I eat it about once or twice a year myself .
