Let me explain. I need a new measuring jug. The measures have been washed off my glass ones and my plastic one is not easy to read. They're cheap yet I have been struggling for about 2 years and never really sure I've measured correctly meaning some failed bread and the odd annoyance most days. Why haven't o bought one? I fear it's symptomatic of other flaws
Tell me yours and make me feel less of a weirdo

No all that cheap but a toilet seat, ours has been balancing on top for nearly a year - we’ve all learnt to sit on it now without it slipping off

Thecazelets · 23/08/2021 22:39

I shall try and take courage from the bravery of others on the tea towel and towel front!

TheChosenTwo · 23/08/2021 22:39

@mewkins I always feel exactly the same about buying knickers! When I’m down to the holey ones where there’s no elastic I get so stressed about repurchasing my favourite style and getting it wrong but not wanting to waste the new ones so wearing them for years anyway even when they make me so unhappy! Ffs it’s a fiver in M&S for a pack of 5 pairs, it’s not the end of the world if I make a couple of mistakes.
@Cheermonger your stapler quandary made me laugh Grin
Why are we like this?!

TestingTestingWonTooFree · 23/08/2021 22:39

You’re making me feel bad about my stained/holey tea towels. That’s totally something I could/should replace.

Awalkintime · 23/08/2021 22:40

Lightbulbs - I did without a 'big' light for months in my bedroom and then just nabbed one out of the spare room. I also do the same in the living room. I get the bulbs from Next and even though I can go and get them that day, it seems a hassle so I just use a lamp until I get pissed off enough to go and get some!

😂😂

We've done this too. Cursed at every wee for about nine months 😂

hazandduck · 23/08/2021 22:40

@Toomuchspinning

New tweezers. Mine haven’t pinched properly for about a year.
Me too!! They are so cheap. My eyebrows are out of hand 🤣 ok I’m going to order some now.
ShuddaBeenMe · 23/08/2021 22:40

Surely land yard isn't lanyard. Who needs a lanyard?

I'm trying to think what the poster meant.

mafted · 23/08/2021 22:41
@mafted Where did you buy your cutlery basket please?
A market stall in local town, however Amazon and EBay do them too.

Mommybunny · 23/08/2021 22:43

Cheers @mafted

DrunkBetch · 23/08/2021 22:45

Hair bobbles! Over time they've broken or gotten lost and now every morning it's a mission to find yesterday's bobble for my DD hair! I honestly couldn't tell you why I haven't bought more yet! 🤦🏻‍♀️

mafted · 23/08/2021 22:46

@Mommybunny

Cheers *@mafted*
Make sure you buy it GrinGrin
BikeRunSki · 23/08/2021 22:46

@Mintjulia

A bath panel. It'll need a carpenter to fit it, and I can't find one with any spare time.
That’s a proper reason though!
Minniem2020 · 23/08/2021 22:48

Tea towels, some of mine are really old but I really dislike spending money on practical household things.

EffYouSeeKaye · 23/08/2021 22:48

What is a land yard??

I have not one but two sieves with no handles. Snapped off ages ago. Regularly scald my fingers draining veg whilst holding the sieve by its rim and thinking I must buy a new one. And repeat. This has been going on for about 5 years.

QuestionableMouse · 23/08/2021 22:51

@Iminaglasscaseofemotion

Get the o'keeffes healthy feet. It's brilliant.

@viques

A new baking tray. My old one is so manky I have to cover it with foil or baking parchment every time I use it. The cost of the baking parchment and foil would probably have paid for a new one several times.

And hands up, I am another one with a measuring jug that has lost its markings , well, that’s not quite true, 200ml is just about visible, so I do other measurement by eye depending on their relationship to 200ml.

snap with the baking tray dont know how much baking paper ive used its been years
Kettletoaster · 23/08/2021 22:55

I’m kind of the opposite. Will happily replace something when its wearing out, but I hate throwing things away that have a use. So I end up with two or three of the same thing and will use the original until it literally falls apart.

MrsFezziwig · 23/08/2021 22:55

I’m so glad this is a thing (possibly some sort of clinical syndrome?) and not just me.

Otherwise there is no reasonable explanation as to why it took me less time/deliberation to buy my house and my campervan than it did to settle on a plastic soap dish for my utility room (£1.99 from B & M)

keeping2chevronsapart · 23/08/2021 22:55

I need clothes pegs! We forgot to take ours off the washing line when we moved. The previous owner of the new house seemed to have done the same as there were 10 lovely new minky ones on her line. That was 2 years ago and I'm still only using a quarter of the line for me and dps washing!!

I’m exactly the same. My baking trays are rusty and horrible, and have to be lined with foil or baking paper. But each time I go to pick up a new one in the supermarket, I wonder what I’ll do with the old ones. I can’t throw a big lump of metal into landfill, and they have no other uses. So they keep on being used for baking!
blueshoes · 23/08/2021 22:56

I am in good company Grin

Think of all the things you are keeping from going into the landfill (just that little bit longer). It is good for the soul and the environment.

keeping2chevronsapart · 23/08/2021 22:58

@aworldofourown

A larger bath mat, found the perfect one on Amazon, I really don't know why I still haven't ordered it. Everytime I have a bath I think about it. Can't order it now as I won't be home for delivery
Do it right now, go on. You can change the delivery day !
longtompot · 23/08/2021 22:59

THIS! I have a hard time trying to gauge where the lines are on mine, esp with hot liquids due to the steam so need some new ones. There is a set of three in M&S, plastic, nice graduated sizes for £3. When they had them in I thought nah, I'll get them next time. But next time I went to get them, all sold out!

Kevinbrady · 23/08/2021 23:01

A bin for the kitchen! I use a carrier bag on the door handle
