Let me explain. I need a new measuring jug. The measures have been washed off my glass ones and my plastic one is not easy to read. They're cheap yet I have been struggling for about 2 years and never really sure I've measured correctly meaning some failed bread and the odd annoyance most days. Why haven't o bought one? I fear it's symptomatic of other flaws
Tell me yours and make me feel less of a weirdo

A plug for the kitchen sink. Never had one since the kitchen was fitted almost 4 years ago. It annoys me every day, yet here we are.

StarryStarrySocks · 23/08/2021 21:47

A new roller blind for the bedroom. It's broken so you can't roll it up with the cord. So every morning I stand up on a stool to roll it up by hand from the top. Hmm

phishy · 23/08/2021 21:48

My iPhone 5 (had it for 10 years). The bastard just won’t quit.

Overoptimistix · 23/08/2021 21:48

@VVKills27

I’m so similar, the cheaper the item is the less inclined I am to muster the effort to replace/pay for it! I’m forever relying on crappy bit of old emery boards as I just never buy them.

Sometimes my mum will fling me one when she sees the sad state of what’s in my make up bag. I don’t know what’s wrong with me - there must be a name for people like this!

When it’s a cheap & boring purchase I just can’t be bothered - the bizarre thing is I’m a bit of a spendaholic about everything else!

Me too, can never ever buy an emery board!
FleetwoodRaincoat · 23/08/2021 21:49

@piefacedclique please don't put it off any longer - it really could save your life.

Pucarbuile · 23/08/2021 21:53

Thanks @QuestionableMouse Smile

ASatisfyingThump · 23/08/2021 21:54

A new laundry basket, one of those small round ones for carrying the clothes. DS2 fell on it and broke it about 3 months ago and I'm still using it! They're dirt cheap, I can easily afford it, but I just can't seem to get around to buying a new one.

rosegoldwatcher · 23/08/2021 21:55

One of those frilly, foot scrubbing mats to go on the floor of the shower.

It has been in my Wish List on Amazon for more than a year.
My heels are thick and dry.
I clearly need one so why haven't i bought it?

aworldofourown · 23/08/2021 21:56

A land yard! I only just ordered one a few weeks ago, it took me 10 years!!!!!!! No kidding!! It's only a couple of quid. Was just one of those things I put off, I'd add to basket and forget to checkout or think I'll do it later. I told everyone about the land yard after it arrived, only took 10 years

Oh my god. I did not know these existed. I really want.
MelbourneTerrace · 23/08/2021 21:57

This is me, thank you. My kinda people...I even spend ages researching the things I want - and still don't buy.

I was impressed in our 'luxury' holiday home with the quality of the items...the beauty of someone else's choices and expense.
This time the tin opener...just WOW - the ease of use - like 'cutting butter' - as against mine that is similar to using a blunt scissors and needs others to turn for me.

I expected the holiday home version would be a fortune - found it online, delighted and amazed with £7.00 - read about it, available to buy ... and haven't.

SmokeyDevil · 23/08/2021 21:58

New hair brush. Mine is definitely past its best, but I hate a new brush. Takes me ages to get used to the new handle. Yes I'm odd.

RevelWithRebels · 23/08/2021 21:58

Leggings /jogging pants - I only have two pairs and one has a hole in them. I love wearing comfy clothes, they will be really cheap, don't care about style, could pick some up with the food shop and yet I keep putting it off.

Ear plugs - a couple of quid for a decent night's sleep. Why do I do this?

aworldofourown · 23/08/2021 21:59

A larger bath mat, found the perfect one on Amazon, I really don't know why I still haven't ordered it. Everytime I have a bath I think about it. Can't order it now as I won't be home for delivery

FlyingPandas · 23/08/2021 22:00

A decent small feather duster. Still using a grotty old one that spins on its handle and is basically useless but have I got round to replacing it? No.

thehardsproutcafe · 23/08/2021 22:02

@rosegoldwatcher @Pucarbuile I have literally bought one of those foot scrubbers last week. Its made out of silicon and it has gone into my top 3 best things ever that I have brought.

Natsel84 · 23/08/2021 22:03

Decent kitchen scissors . Everytime I open the draw i think I must pick some up. But never do . I see them in the shops and still don't buy any 🤣

PinkyAndALurkyPerky · 23/08/2021 22:04

A mascara, just one from the supermarket, but no, everyday I pump the old one to get every last frigging drop from it

LyndaSnellsSniff · 23/08/2021 22:05

For 2 years I would perch atop a chair and roll DS's bedroom roller blind by hand. I would regularly skin my knuckles doing it. All it needed was a new chain. Twas the happiest of days when I finally replaced it!

This is the one I have considered.

Mistlewoeandwhine · 23/08/2021 22:09

Baking beans (the ceramic ones) even though I bake a lot.
New bras - yet have bought lots of new shoes. Why?

BabyofMine · 23/08/2021 22:09

Underpants. The elastic is separating from the fabric Blush they literally cost a few quid and I could get them with the shopping. Do I ever remember? Nope. Same with vest tops, socks, and lounge pants. Basically clothing basics. All falling to bits.

Chloemol · 23/08/2021 22:09

@Beer2bed
Flash mop, I have one, love it. Really easy to use

snowpo · 23/08/2021 22:09

Tablespoons, never had any. Bloody annoying for recipes & serving but just never in 20yrs of adult living got round to buying any!
