To go on holiday without him….?

Holiday booked for December. Me, DH and 2DC. Booked pre-pandemic.

Hubby is not vaccinated and country doesn't currently allow unvaccinated people entry. It’s unlikely to change position before we travel.

Option 1 - we go without him.

Option 2 - we abandon the holiday.

Husband is in favour of Option 2.

I’m wondering whether I could manage Option 1. Biggest difficulty other than keeping an eye on both kids in a foreign country, is driving - I’ve never done it outside of the UK and it would be in winter conditions.

Would it be unreasonable for me to consider going without him….?

OP, I have been following with interest and really want to encourage you to go. Find a friend/acquaintance/recommended stranger to travel with you for an extra £50, or reach deep and summon up all your courage and confidence and go alone. But don't let someone else's ill-informed stubbornness (because that is all it is) ruin this for you.

Beware, because once you've told tour husband your decision I suspect he will try to undermine you, plant doubt, sow fear and cast aspersions on your abilities in every possible way, so you will have to stay very strong. You can do this.

A holiday like that would be an absolute waste on a 2yo (nearly 3yo) on their own. Personally I think you take them both or take the 7yo. Of course your DH wants the 7yo to stay at home; he will be easier to take care of and will be in school most of the time anyway!

Don't pick one kid to go! He sounds like he puts you down quite a lot, is that true, op?

Just go, we holiday separately sometimes. Let’s face it we all want a bit of me time and no YANBU 💕
