AIBU that our holiday lodge isn't what we booked?

Nicer problems to have and all. I know we're lucky to be able to have a break at all.

Both DP and I are tall, both 6 foot plus, so I made sure we booked, and paid a lot of money for, a big enough bed. Otherwise we have to sleep all curled up together, or with our feet hanging off the end.

Aibu to be annoyed that we've been given standard double?

They're very naughty. King size is king size. WTF is a caravan king size? Brochure clearly says king size.

I struggle in a double, and I'm only 5ft 7. I'd be mightily peed off if I was as a tall as you and ended up in a double when I'd expected to sleep comfortably.

Fucksake! Could they go and buy you a kingsize air bed? You can often get same day delivery from Argos. Or there might be a camping shop nearby.

Trade descriptions I think. Though better to get it resolved which I bet is possible.

As they’ve not said anywhere these are caravans despite the photos, I would think it natural to presume these have standard king sized beds.

If you are going to make a claim, I think it would be an idea to buy a tape measure and take pics of the bed with the tape on it.

Sorry, it does still say king size, i was reading the bit that said double bedroom.

I was also looking at the 4 bed one which is bigger and one of things that come in two bit etc. I see there is another hot tub lodge with two beds.

Anyway, I hope you sort it out OP, it is definitely misleading.

What a shabby outfit they are. The website specifically mentions a king size bed, despite the photos showing a double (two pillows take up the width of the bed), then they try to claim that a 'caravan king size' is actually the same as a rest-of-the-uk-standard double, whilst claiming they are luxury hot tub lodges. Either way, they've been misleading and I really hope you get your refund.

I’ve not RTFT so apologies if it’s already been suggested but could you not order another king size air bed and get the holiday park to pay for it to be shipped next day delivery @MangoBiscuit?

Diesn’t matter it’s a caravan or lodge, the op paid for king size bed, so should be getting a king size bed.

I know its awful but I do admit to having a laugh at your bed with chairs at the end.I mean, really........................................... (can't believe that they think this is reasonable.)

That’s a caravan not a lodge, very misleading. But definitely says king size bed.

I think the fact they have brought chairs and mattress toppers speaks volumes. You have documentary evidence that they have not delivered what you expected. Hope you find a suitable resolution.

Really they should offer to pay for a suitable alternative, e.g. a king size bed n a nearby hotel. Might that be an option?

Most places call statics lodges. It's so miss leading!

Surely a "static caravan" is an oxymoron anyway?

To me these look as substantial as a lot of the prefab housing built after the war.

I once stayed in a hotel in the USA with the most enormous bed - at least three large pillows wide. I thought it was fantastic and went to sleep in the middle feeling quite decadent.

I woke up in the middle of the night in a complete panic because I had managed to mummify myself in the sheet as I tend to twist and turn in my sleep. Had to work hard to calm myself down in pitch dark and free myself. Also the middle of the bed turned out to be miles away from the light/clock/phone. Spent the rest of the stay sleeping near the edge as if I was at home with DH in our standard U.K. double.

Its a caravan kingsize!! When you pay, make sure to pull out your cash and seem surprised that monopoly money isnt allowed as apparently people can make up what the pish they want.

Could you use refund and buy an airbed from nearby?

Clearly says king size bed... I'd be furious if I turned up and it wasn't a king size bed based on that advert, as I said in an earlier post I too always check that the bed is at least king size. It would ruin my holiday to sleep in a standard double with DH as I literally wouldn't get any sleep.

I am picturing OP and her DH snoozing fitfully with their feet on the chairs, two of which will have been kicked over by morning!

Would a static van ever be big enough for a King Size?

We own a static caravan and it has a full size king size bed. The singles are smaller in the kids room.
