Rosé wine is awful.

Please give your opinions, all welcome...

I've yet to find a Rosé wine that doesn't give me an instant dull headache, tried lots of different blends/price points and still believe that it tasted just crap.

Instant dull headache is my experience too

OoglyMoogly · 10/08/2021 20:01

I will only drink Rosé as a very last resort. Much prefer a bone dry White wine, will often switch to Red in winter but Rosé... I'll hopefully find something else to drink. Smile

silentlight · 10/08/2021 20:02

Whispering Angel for me too, if you don’t like that then give up on Rosé

ShrikeAttack · 10/08/2021 20:03

On a hot day only a very chilled rosè will do! Try this if you think you don't like it, dry, delicious, full of summer fruit flavours and low acidity. Perfect for hot days in the garden.

Rosé wine is awful.
Itsallabouttea · 10/08/2021 20:04

The only decent one I ever had was from a relative who's a wine maker in France. Completely organic with no additives, it was very light and gave me no hangover. All others are horribly sickly!

TempsPerdu · 10/08/2021 20:12

What on Earth are you all drinking?! True, the bright pink bubblegum Zinfandel rosé stuff is foul - but a pale, bone dry, ice cold Provençal or Corsican rosé is the nectar of the gods.

Agreed.

The ribena looking stuff is the pits.

JorisBonson · 10/08/2021 20:13

I had a Bulgarian rosé with lunch a while back that knocked my socks off. So nice.

ImInStealthMode · 10/08/2021 20:13

Rosé has to be so pale it may as well be white for me, and dry as a bone.

My mum drinks Jack Rabbit and Mateus and the colour alone gives me a headache Confused

AgnesNaismith · 10/08/2021 20:13

Agree with the above, you have to get the palest of pale rose wines. Preferably Provence and definitely not the cheap gallo shit.

Miliao · 10/08/2021 20:15

I think some of you may need to broaden your horizons! If you don’t drink or know that much about wine, then it’s likely you would associate rose with sweet. Where I’m from it’s definitely not sweet or frowned upon. It’s like me saying I hate red wine if I’d only drunk heavy South African malbecs! There’s a world of wine out there, have fun trying them all!

DramaAlpaca · 10/08/2021 20:16

If you don't like rosé you're trying the wrong ones.

Sweet rosé is grim, but a dry one can be a glass of perfection.

@AliasGrape

It's more of a breakfast wine

Malbec rosé is lovely. Gotta be iceeeeeee cold though.

eurochick · 10/08/2021 20:21

I love a very chilled, crisp, dry rosé on a hot day. It can't be beaten.

At my in-laws' holiday home in France we usually drink white at lunch and then white and red in the evening. I love those holidays!

UnashamedLabelHo · 10/08/2021 20:21

Whispering Angel is one of the only rosés that is hangover free for me. It’s inoffensive.

bleachblondemom · 10/08/2021 20:21

Also, pink Sauvignon Blanc.

Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo can be lovely

TheVanguardSix · 10/08/2021 20:25

I die a little every time one of DH's patients buys him a bottle of rose.
I don't even drink and still, I can hear the migraine/nausea army coming over the hill. It's the memory... the godawful memory of rose that haunts me. Confused

ghostyslovesheets · 10/08/2021 20:25

agreed - not the pink sweet cheap crap!

VeniVidiWeeWee · 10/08/2021 20:26

No one likes pink Champagne then?

Davros · 10/08/2021 20:28

I do. Fill me up

mynameisbrian · 10/08/2021 20:29

rose was the only drink that gave me the first and last migraine of my life. However it was nasty cheap stuff. I do like Rose now but I spend money on it and like a blush style. I get mine from the local wine shop and its lovely.

MintyGreenDream · 10/08/2021 20:30

Jeremy Clarkson calls it Lady Petrol. Its not my type of fuel though I find it sickly.I prefer a very dry white.
