To feel so sorry for anyone on a British holiday right now

It’s been raining for about a week where I live. I’ve just woken up to yet more heavy rain this morning. It must be utterly miserable for anyone holidaying in the UK right now. You have my sympathies! Hope you’re managing to have a decent time despite the grim weather.

No such thing as bad weather just poor clothing choices as they say.

There’s a reason SAS Who Dares Wins is filmed in Scotland and not on the French Riviera though (and it’s not because there’s no sea or mountains on the Cote d Azur).

Cocktails by the sea and swimming/paddle boarding in The Gower last week. Amazing two weeks in Wales with lots of beach days and only two mornings reading and chilling ( and eating welsh cakes ) in the tent because of the rain. Loved every second.

Because it's too hot and dry on the Cote d'Azur?

@oldwhyno Clearly

Being cold, wet and miserable is part of training.

Thanks stayathomer

I fully intend to savour every moment!

Hope you also get a decent sunny, warm break somewhere lovely.

I wish I was on a British holiday right now! We booked Jersey but because they require double vaccination and my 18 year old dd has only had her first so far, we couldn't go. By the time this became apparent there was no UK accommodation to be had anywhere. So it's no break for us

We’ve had a few days in Scotland and we’ve had a brilliant time, we’re in York now to break up the drive home.

Tonight we’re staying in a little bow top wagon, its so mild my husband is currently asleep on a lounger in t-shirt and shorts.

I've just come back from a fantastic week in the Highlands. Only rained one morning plus a few light showers. I don't need any sympathy, it was a wonderful holiday! The one thing I can't stand is being too hot to move so I'm rarely disappointed with a British holiday!

The weather is really quite pleasant at the moment.

I live in South Devon. We've had a trip into Torbay today, had a cream tea and pretneded we are on holiday. Beautiful afternoon, loads of people enjoying the sunshine. Not sure I feel sorry for anyone.

Yesterday in Cornwall where we are was very drizzly in and off, and overcast. But the evening was nice, if a little chilly.

Today the morning was cloudy and cooler. This afternoon is much nicer. 21c and some sun.

If it continues this way, without the drizzle and rain showed it will be much better!

Weve just got back from a week in London. Some was very wet but most of it better than expected weather wise and- other than a soaking nr Covent Garden - it didnt interfere with our plans. City breaks are pretty weather proof I think.

Btw, one of the most frequent quoters of the "no such thing as bad weather, just wrong clothing" saying is Billy Connolly. I love him, but he lives in California!
