Oh fuck off. People have to work. The people working in Tesco's don't deserve to get covid because you don't want the vaccine. Fucking idiot.

The people working in Tesco's aren't forced at gunpoint to work there, and have had plenty of opportunity to be vaccinated themselves. They're free to seek other employment if they aren't comfortable with the risks of being around the general public. And if they're vulnerable or have a vulnerable household member, that's exactly what they should do. Their refusal to make reasonable choices for their own medical circumstances is no one else's fault.

Jesus Christ. People need to shop, work and go to hospitals, dentists and doctors.

If your supposedly-vulnerable relatives haven't figured out by now how to get groceries delivered, that's their own fault, and yours for not arranging it for them (since you're supposedly so concerned). Where I live, most medical providers have people wait in their cars and only come in when the doctor is ready to see them, so that no one is hanging out in the waiting room.

All these objections you keep making up just show the completely absence of any effort by these supposedly-vulnerable people. Their refusal to take responsibility for their own health doesn't give them the right to harm mine for their own convenience.

JesusIsAny: thick meaning fat or stupid; which? What's the point in being vaccinated if you don't believe it works? You clearly don't.

Stupid. Incredibly stupid. You are making me want to drink myself blackout drunk. I think I will.
SaharaFlower · 08/08/2021 01:41

Jesus: I think the incredible stupid is verbally abusing people on the internet. Or perhaps it's because of poor assertiveness in reality. Me, I'd rather just be pleasant and debate the issue sensibly. Which isn't you, sorry for that.

Unkike you, my relatives aren't selfish, ignorant morons. They have taken responsibility for their own health. But covid is a PUBLIC health issue.

Your posts clearly show you don't even have a basic understanding of how viruses spread.

I hope to God you haven't passed your ignorance on to any children.

Yeah, you keep thinking that, you uneducated dimwit.
SaharaFlower · 08/08/2021 01:42

Incredibly stupid Smile

It works but is not 100% effective.

Like seatbelts. Some people still die in accidents when they wear a seatbelt. Does this mean seatbelts don't work?

SaharaFlower · 08/08/2021 01:44

Snoozer11: by your risk management, the public is your problem. There is an option to stay away from the public.

I don't believe you have, sweetheart.
1forAll74 · 08/08/2021 01:45

I think this question has been asked about a thousand times already on here.

SaharaFlower · 08/08/2021 01:45

By your assessment of the risk, nowhere near 100%. You can either live in fear or just understand that not everyone serves your desires.

SaharaFlower · 08/08/2021 01:47

Jesus: I'm not certain why you think I care whether you believe me. Also, sweetheart isn't my name. Smile

I'm not certain why you believe anyone would believe you have been to university either, but here we are.
SaharaFlower · 08/08/2021 01:57

Jesus: I'm a bit confused at that. What is it you're saying here?

GalesThisMorning · 08/08/2021 02:02

Don't those of you refusing the vaccine ever want to travel abroad again?

I am fully vaccinated, visiting my family in my home country Smile it's great. Are you all just never going to leave the UK?

SaharaFlower · 08/08/2021 02:04

Jesus: I'm still a bit confused. What reason would I have to lie? Also, what is it that you're meaning by, "here we are"?

I can't afford to travel abroad, so the vaccine is hardly an incentive in my case.
SaharaFlower · 08/08/2021 02:05

Gales: I have no want to go back to my country.

HelgaDownUnder · 08/08/2021 02:05

I am interested to see the take-up of future boosters. Already it seems new variants are better at evading the vaccine and boosters will be required.

For me, the side effects of AZ (that I've seen firsthand) can be horrendous, and in many cases seem as bad or worse than Covid in my age group. Other vaccines are not really available here. I'll wait.

SaharaFlower · 08/08/2021 02:08

Helga: Where are you? There are 3 available here.

DoubleTweenQueen · 08/08/2021 02:26

I didn’t have it for a long time, as unfortunately there’s such a hoo-haa surrounding it, we get to hear every single bad news story that may or may not be related. Side-effects do occur with most medical treatments/drugs/vaccines, but they’re not usually thrust at us constantly. No wonder there’s such heightened anxiety surrounding it generally.

I am a bit north of 48 though, and was a bit annoyed that I would be obliged to have one vaccine without any personal choice, particularly as the news regarding a link between it and rare blood clotting events, for which they didn’t at the time understand why and who might be at most risk, was just emerging - after older DH had his, and was completely fine.
So, I put it off. But recently found a walk-in which was offering Pfizer only, so I had first shot this week. The person entering my data seemed a bit taken aback it was my first - in a slight peering over their specs at me sort of way! Site of injection a bit stiff & sore for 24hrs, but that’s it. I understand the mRNA formula a bit better, and it seems to have good efficacy. Am comfortable having the Pfizer.

Means I won’t be fully immunised until later in October, but I’m more comfortable I’ve got the ball rolling.
