This has been a wild ride made substantially more entertaining by DBs shenanigans but the end is in sight.

Hopefully by 8.35 the car will be free. I will be downing something alcoholic and next time the straw comes I'll make him bring it in by hand one bale at a time WITHOUT unlocking the gate!

I'm going to go for dignified and just let him out and convince myself that him moving it at all makes this a draw my victory. He no doubt will do the same and we'll both potter off happily into the sunset hopefully never to meet again!

I'm fighting between wanting to post the final comment on a thread and wanting to leave space for OPs future updates, just in case.

She knew. And even if she didn't know before she turned up, she damn well knew when he started it up with no bother and drove off.

I can't make excuses for her I'm afraid.

None of us can know - all we can know is that there are countless women out there who end up with, and staying with, men like him, because they're gaslighted, feel stuck and are made to feel worthless. Equally, there are lots of outrageously-behaved women who act as CF partners in crime with their similarly entitled husbands.

None of us have any idea in this scenario, though, apart from our interpretations/guesses from the 'clues' in his appalling behaviour throughout this whole escapade.

How big is your gate, OP? I think you need a modern art display. A PP suggested a cubed Ranger, but that’s hard to do. A laminated printout of these threads attached to the gate however… (also not easy, but maybe ace DB could help too!)

He really is a loser isn’t he hiding behind his wife because he couldn’t bear to face you himself . Least you know he had to come up with so many ideas to try and get it back and in the end he had to wear his wife down to go and get it for him. Hope she tells his mum!

There are many more lurkers on MN than people who actually post, it wouldn't surprise me if one or more of them outed him on FB and/or contacted the tabloids linked to these threads which have documented his idiotic behaviour.
