This has been a wild ride made substantially more entertaining by DBs shenanigans but the end is in sight.

Hopefully by 8.35 the car will be free. I will be downing something alcoholic and next time the straw comes I'll make him bring it in by hand one bale at a time WITHOUT unlocking the gate!

I'm going to go for dignified and just let him out and convince myself that him moving it at all makes this a draw my victory. He no doubt will do the same and we'll both potter off happily into the sunset hopefully never to meet again!

Surely his DP isn't daft enough to believe that the car broke down.

Because, logic dictates, if your car breaks down and needs to be kept somewhere, and you drop your DP off to collect it, you wouldn't leave them until you know the car is working.

I'm hoping that's just douche behaviour from the CF and not questionable details about the post 😅 maybe I'm too sceptical. Although it has been fun!

Of it had broken down how would the wife be able to just hop in and drive off?

@BlueEyesWhiteDragon the problem is that YOU are a decent person. Normal, reasonable etc. He is not.

He is also a big coward.

He will be pretending to himself that he was 'right' and that you were wrong, he'll be telling people a big story. Most of them will know his true nature and think 'Yeah you were just be the kind of arse that you usually are'. However, I imagine in his quiet 3am dead of night moments, the CF will be running and re-running the whole thing. I bet it will make him uncomfortable for a while (and some of his discomfort will be masked by his continuing internal anger).
