Locked Parking Thread - The Actual End

This has been a wild ride made substantially more entertaining by DBs shenanigans but the end is in sight.

Hopefully by 8.35 the car will be free. I will be downing something alcoholic and next time the straw comes I'll make him bring it in by hand one bale at a time WITHOUT unlocking the gate!

I'm going to go for dignified and just let him out and convince myself that him moving it at all makes this a draw my victory. He no doubt will do the same and we'll both potter off happily into the sunset hopefully never to meet again!

We don’t get many Ford Rangers around here, the farmer’s truck of choice seems to be a Nissan Navarra. In blue.

Or perhaps there is only actually one farm truck and they’re all sharing, because actually I seem to see a lot of those blue things around… 🤔

Yesitsbess · 03/08/2021 19:25

I'm going to miss everyone so much once this over. Even sister Mary.

QueenStromba · 03/08/2021 19:25

@WandaVision2

This is getting ridiculous
Getting ridiculous? It's been ridiculous since about lunchtime on Saturday!
PizzaPiePizzaPie · 03/08/2021 19:26

I’d very much like to hear those stories!

I’m guessing some involves doggers as they are the worst. I worked at a school that had to spend a fortune on new fencing because of the filthy they left in the car park, which the kids walked past.

picklemewalnuts · 03/08/2021 19:26

Are you going to make him knock your door? I mean, you wouldn't actually wait outside would you?

RookieRoo · 03/08/2021 19:26

This has been a huge source of entertainment the past few days. Along with frustration.

Currently got the baby asleep on my lap and couldn't be bothered to move him until I read the updates he was keeping me from.

The filling of the threads has been annoying me however I now want to see if we can fill this one before the car is collected!!

crowsfeet57 · 03/08/2021 19:27

I'm so ignorant about/ uninterested in cars I wouldn't recognise one if it parked outside our door

You'd never find a ranger parked neatly outside your door. You might find one parked on your drive or across your drive or completely blocking the pavement...

Lougle · 03/08/2021 19:28

Perhaps you need to draw around the car with chalk, like in a crime scene. You could sell tickets to an epic retelling of the whole saga.

We could easily fill this thread if we each write one word per post 🤣

I’ve got my baby asleep on my lap too! It’s been a great read!

Can you download something from YouTube with the sound of a lock or bolt opening and then play it many, many times, with an awkwardly long pause in between each one, to make him squirm as he thinks you have about 28 locks on the door?!

[googles farms for sale near me]

:)

My lame super power is being able to time my school run drive to the absolute second, no matter what road works / broken down rubbish bin lorries are in place. 7 years, 40 minute school run twice a day, been late once. (Got a very mild bollocking from DS1's year 4 teacher though).

Phantom car owner of the opera

MotherofTerriers · 03/08/2021 19:31

If you miss seeing the RANGER sitting in your drive OP, apparently you can get a shiny new one for only £180 a month

HPandTheNeverEndingBedtime · 03/08/2021 19:32

I'd put money on 'Ranger' being added to the list of 'Pom bears', 'naice ham', 'Korean grandma' and 'penis beaker' to prove your MN credentials from now on!.

Mountainpika · 03/08/2021 19:32

@crowsfeet57 - good point. Parked on the pavement and across the bit of grass and path we have so we can't get out the door.

JacquelineCarlyle · 03/08/2021 19:32

I hope he does finally turn up and is apologetic with it, but somehow I doubt that. I expect he'll mutter and grumble under his breath as he won't see that he's done anything wrong!

excelledyourself · 03/08/2021 19:33

No explanation for last night's no show?

CoffeeRunner · 03/08/2021 19:34

I can't believe this is still going!

What a twonk.

CCC1 · 03/08/2021 19:34

You could say - “Smile!” Take his picture and then say “Thanks. I’ve had a lot of press interest.”

marbleborough · 03/08/2021 19:34

Noooo it can't be the end.

Ideas for making it last longer

1 The car doesn't start
2 He turns up with flowers and wine to apologies and it is the start of a beautiful love story
3 Forestry people turn up in massive JCB and drive over the car before he gets there

What else?
