What is the WORST pain you've ever had?

Personally, toothache (constant background throb with searing white hot stabs that made me feel like I was being electrocuted in my skull every few seconds) gets the award for absolute worst ever. Two frozen shoulders, and adenomyosis that used to regularly have me puking and fainting and almost hallucinating on the bathroom floor are strong contenders - but miles behind. There is just something about vicious toothache that makes it the worst.

Contemplating this as just back from the dentist, where at least for now, things were ok this time Grin

What about you?

A failed ECV to turn my son. Horrendous. I'd never, ever go through that again.

I had horrible PGP and that's the worst pin I've ever been in. Not necessarily because of one big spike of pain more because it was constant and went on for 30 weeks. It ground me down. It gave me a whole new level of sympathy for people that have chronic pain conditions.

Braxton hicks when carrying my twins - they said my contractions were the same as a woman at 10cm dialated except I was only 3cm!

Pericarditis - infection in the sac around the heart. Very painful!

One of my earliest memories is of having a sore slammed shit on my fingers, maybe aged 18 months or so. I don’t remember the pain but I know that the memory is there because of the pain, if that makes sense?

Other than that, savage period pains.

Toothache (inflamed nerve in tooth). Fuck me that was horrendous, and I gave birth without painkillers.

Gosh. Hard to decide. I have had:

2 childbirths with no pain relief
Sciatica
Perforated ear drum
Dry Socket
Frozen shoulder

I would say sciatica was probably the worst.

Gallstones sounds bad

Ear infection.

Got so bad I had to go to A and E.

Also close second

toothache. abcess.

In comparison to those childbirth wasn't so bad.

Having zero pain relief after the spinal block wore off after DD's c-section - because the midwives had forgotten to get a doctor to write me up for morphine. I was just left in agony for over 2 hours because it was Friday night, and all the doctors were too busy. There are just no words for the pain I was in.

Mercifully, when the new shift came on at 10pm a new midwife took pity on me and gave me morphine straight into my leg muscle. She was appalled I'd been left to suffer like that - said you wouldn't leave a dog like that. I think she got the prescription signed for afterwards.

Chest pain during a C section. Epidural didn’t work properly but DS was in a bad way and needed to come out. I howled as loud as I could to make the team realise how much pain I was in.
