To think people saying "stop moaning about the weather" need to fuck off?

I'm heavily pregnant, pale, ginger and really suffering. I'm sure there are people struggling more than I am though. I'm in London where it's expected to reach 32(?) today.

Not everybody can cope well with this heat and humidity. The met office has issued extreme weather warnings yet some people think we're supposed to be grateful for it.

AIBU to think those people need to fuck off?

OP posts:

if you keep telling yourself that it's a heatwave and any temperature above 25 is uncomfortable, inhumane and will give you heat exhaustion and heat stroke, you will start feeling ill... that's the point.

whistlers · 21/07/2021 14:41

@coogee

Well, 32 degrees isn't cold is it

If my coffee was 32 degrees, it would be cold.

Don't know about you, but I'm not made of coffee
whistlers · 21/07/2021 14:41

@coogee

And if my Aunty had balls she’d be my uncle.

These days even that would be subjective.

Hahahahahahahaha
ledesertsacre · 21/07/2021 14:45

@CrouchEndTiger12

You don't like it some people do.

You're struggling some aren't. There is nothing you can do about the heat except grow up and don't be childish and angry that some people like it.

It's more childish not being able to cope with somebody complaining. Get a grip! OP, you're allowed to be pissed of and have a moan.

@CaptainThe95thRifles

What kind of weirdo doesn't like butter on toast?! What a misery you must be Grin
Most people nowadays like marmalade instead.
DappledThings · 21/07/2021 14:50

Most people nowadays like marmalade instead.
Let's start this argument again too! Marmalade belongs on top of butter, it is not a substitute for butter.

CaptainThe95thRifles · 21/07/2021 14:54

Marmalade is an abomination unto the lord.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 21/07/2021 15:02

I don't tell people to be grateful for cold weather even though I love it. Autumn and winter are my favourite times of year, I can do anything at all without melting into a puddle. I'm also a very hot person with good circulation so it takes ages in the cold to actually feel cold, and then I'm warm again within 5-10 minutes of getting inside. However I recognise that for plenty of people the cold weather is uncomfortable, painful if they have an issue such as Raynard's and even dangerous for the very young and old. They have every right to express the discomfort they feel (a bit, not endlessly) and so do I in the summer time. I wouldn't tell a person with Raynard's to go out and enjoy the snow, and someone like me who is prone to heat stroke will not be going out in the heat no matter how much I'm encouraged.

@NeonDreams

32 degrees c is very comfortable, it's not hot at all, it can get to 37 or 39 where I am. It's currently winter here, and has been getting down to 19 during the day and -2 overnight. We've got the heaters on and bed socks. It's soooo fucking cold not even the heating is keeping us warm.
i guess you are in Aus or NZ. Houses there are built for coolness, in the UK they are built for warmth. 19 degrees in the UK is quite pleasant.

If my coffee was 32 degrees, it would be cold.

Normal body temperature is just under 37 degrees. In weather terms that would be extremely hot.
MyDcAreMarvel · 21/07/2021 15:08

32 is not that hot though , 42 I did struggle and my chest hurt. It’s a British hobby to moan.

Grin it's never too hot for a bit of silly verse
Hm2020 · 21/07/2021 15:22

Op put a bucket of ice if you’ve got one behind the fan

pleasedonttextmyman · 21/07/2021 15:44

is it? In November yes it's pleasant. In July it's far too cold.

Strongly disagree.

19 degrees where I am in November would be highly unusual. 9 degrees is more like the average temperature where I am in November.

19 degrees is a lovely summer temperature. Have been to the beach often when temperatures are mid to late teens and worn t-shirt and shorts.

Katkinsgreyy · 21/07/2021 15:50

I only hate when people go on and on about how they "can't wait for the summer". How much they "love the heat and sun".
Then moan about it once it's hot :s
I love cold weather and am happy when it's cold, I don't moan about it.

pleasedonttextmyman · 21/07/2021 15:53

I have been on ski slopes in January wearing a tshirt too, it doesn't mean a lovely sunny spell for a winter holiday would be remotely fine in the middle of the summer.

You can see how quiet beaches are when it's 19, and there's no one in the sea funnily enough.

thisismyhill · 21/07/2021 15:56

I work outside in a pretty physical job I'm pale and ginger. It was about 26 today where I am, about 4 people said to me "lovely weather for it today"... if looks could kill they would all be gone!!!!!

whenwillthemadnessend · 21/07/2021 15:57

I'm in holiday in Northumberland. It's stunning here light wind and about 24. Perfect

However if I was at home. Hertfordshire I'd be moaning constantly and lying about doing nothing I feel your pain op.

wanttomarryamillionaire · 21/07/2021 16:00

Try doing CPR on someone for 40 mins while dressed in level 3 PPE , in this heat!

😂 you obviously haven't been to a beach in Scotland! Anything over about 13 degrees is "taps off" weather!

Have seen people swimming in the sea when it's much colder outside than 19 degrees!

It's 21 degrees currently here, will be slightly cooler at the beach. Can guarantee they will be packed and plenty will be in the water. It's hot here today at 21 degrees, sitting outside and still feel warm.

It really depends on what you are used to. If you live somewhere with colder temperatures then 19/20 degrees is more than pleasant. Anything getting closer to mid 20's is unbearable.

If you live in a place where temperatures are in the 30's then yes you will feel colder in cooler temperatures.

Reminds me of a visit to London a few years ago in November. Glorious day - sunny, blue skies temperature mid teens. We were walking about with no coats on as it was so pleasant, yet staff in shops etc were huddled around heaters saying how cold it was. It was to them as the temperature had obviously dropped, not cold to us, as that's summer temperatures

Furrydogmum · 21/07/2021 16:05

Fellow redhead, I feel your pain! 20 is as hot as I can cope with and that sees me with sunburn after 10-15 minutes :-/ I've just treated myself to a portable ac unit - probably won't arrive before the end of the heatwave Hmm

pleasedonttextmyman · 21/07/2021 16:05

It really depends on what you are used to.

very true.
Just look at British tourists in summer gear when the locals are wearing jumpers and coats abroad because the temperatures have gone down a lot Grin

SecretWitch · 21/07/2021 16:13

Oh, op. I feel you. I feel very ill in heat and humidity. My dream is to live in Seattle or Scotland. I love rainy and windy days.
