To think people saying "stop moaning about the weather" need to fuck off?

I'm heavily pregnant, pale, ginger and really suffering. I'm sure there are people struggling more than I am though. I'm in London where it's expected to reach 32(?) today.

Not everybody can cope well with this heat and humidity. The met office has issued extreme weather warnings yet some people think we're supposed to be grateful for it.

AIBU to think those people need to fuck off?

I think you are being unreasonable because you’re watching something where people basically moan from both sides of a debate. There are always things to disagree with on that show. If you don’t want to hear it, then change the channel.

You have my sympathy though. Can’t be easily! But just choose your programming more wisely.

MiddleEasternMummy · 21/07/2021 11:05

32 degrees is scorching and I am from the Middle East . It's overbearing at night so stuffy and of course during the day time we have to go about our normal business, work etc ... on holiday you can jump in a pool and even when I go back to the Middle East there is air conditioning everywhere. I was pregnant during a heatwave and it was hell ! Whoever things you should stop moaning is an arsehole . Feel for you op .

CigarsofthePharoahs · 21/07/2021 11:05

All the people who moan about people saying it's too hot are the same people who moan all through winter about it being cold.

pinkcircustop · 21/07/2021 11:05

I think you just need to stop moaning about the weather to be honest.

Moaning won’t change anything and it’ll just keep you miserable.

DappledThings · 21/07/2021 11:05

In summer, my house is a literal oven.
Unless it's getting up to at least 180 in there then no, it's not literally an oven.

SweetPetrichor · 21/07/2021 11:06

I’m counting down the days till it’s meant to cool down! I’m in Scotland but inside our flat is 28 degrees and it’s miserable. Not worth investing in air con cause we’re moving…just have to keep counting down until the weather breaks!

Veros · 21/07/2021 11:06

I don't really think being pale and ginger have anything to do with it though, unless you're forced to be out in the sun all day.

I will be from midday.

I'm happy for those who enjoy the hot weather, I just think it's shit that some of those people think we should all be grateful for it.

All the people who moan about people saying it's too hot are the same people who moan all through winter about it being cold.

Not me - I love the cold!

MiddleEasternMummy · 21/07/2021 11:07

Also being pregnant or indeed hormonal is extremely hard in this weather . These days got my own built in central heating system system so don't need another one on top .

Veros · 21/07/2021 11:08

I've never moaned about the cold, rain, snow etc.

You can put your heating on in the winter. You can't do much about this heat especially if you live in a city centre flat with no air con.

RaspberryRoyale88 · 21/07/2021 11:08

I’m in Scotland. It’s currently 27 degrees.
I hate it!

Rosiiiiie · 21/07/2021 11:09

It is so bloody hot OP!!! I’m also pregnant and not coping so good with the heat.

PumpkinKlNG · 21/07/2021 11:09

Nope I never moan about the winter I love the winter and the rain and snow, summer is my least favourite season.

CrouchEndTiger12 · 21/07/2021 11:09

You don't like it some people do.

You're struggling some aren't. There is nothing you can do about the heat except grow up and don't be childish and angry that some people like it.

AudacityBaby · 21/07/2021 11:10

I used to live somewhere where it was circa 35 degrees for 4 months solid. The difference was that their infrastructure was built around it - air con, buildings designed to repel heat, city planning took account of the need for green and blue spaces for shade and cooling.

I didn't love it, but I worked long hours in it and could cope. By contrast, 32 degrees in the UK is intolerable for me. The living situation simply is not built for it - some people have adapted to it by having houses with cooling systems and/or pools etc., but for the most part, this isn't the norm. People saying that 32 degrees isn't hot are missing the point - it all depends on where you are experiencing that 32 degrees.

You have my sympathy, OP. I absolutely loathe this and can't wait for rain.

PumpkinKlNG · 21/07/2021 11:11

And that’s what I was saying yesterday, when it’s cold you can put the heating on when it’s hot you can’t do anything, I have a fan on but it’s having zero affect and can’t even feel it, and it’s not like you can carry it around with you. Much easier to warm up than cool down.

buffyajp · 21/07/2021 11:11

@coogee

It is for England if you don't have air con or a pool...

I have neither. To me, it’s warm, not hot. When it starts getting towards 40, then it’s hot.

Good for you. Again it is hot for the UK
NVision · 21/07/2021 11:11

Moaning about people moaning about those who moan about the weather is worse.

@DappledThings

People from Scotland where it's currently only 23 degrees Only? 23 is a hot day. About the upper limit of comfortable hot.

32 isn’t really that hot LOL

If I never got the chance to experience temperatures over 23 I'd be a bit fucked off with people moaning.

We get pretty small windows of high temperatures in the UK.

We get loads of wind, rain, cold and gloom. Some of us don't cope well with that.

romany4 · 21/07/2021 11:15

It was 35 in my garden yesterday and 30 in my house. I'm in Yorkshire!
DH is disabled and diabetic and the heat is killing him.
I'm an Autumn and Winter person. I don't like Summer.

I feel for everybody else here that is fed up.

I would happily never see the far side of 22 degrees ever again

MistyGreenAndBlue · 21/07/2021 11:19

I too never complain about the cold. In fact, I'm still like a kid when it snows.
But I hate this heat. And I'll moan if I want to.
I don't tell people who hate the cold to stop complaining.

Just leave me be.
