I have felt sick and tired all day. Can't get comfortable, didn't sleep last night etc. Is anyone actually enjoying it as I am certainly not. Dreading work tomorrow also.

Loving it! I’m pretending I’m on holiday
DP and I had al fresco breakfast this morning - lunch at an outdoor cafe
Now sat at home next to pond watching the fish
At work tomorrow I will have fans on it will be fine
I love sumner

casualnamechange · 18/07/2021 19:25

I don’t mind it at the weekends because my flat is lovely and cool and the park outside is very shady. At work with 30 children tomorrow in a classroom that heats up like a greenhouse… no thanks.

userxx · 18/07/2021 19:28

@Lincslady53

Absolutely fabulous. Alternating between going in the sun and shade. Chores on hold till it cools down. We won't be getting abroad this year, so making the best of just a few days of beautiful weather.

I'm making the most of it too. I've been on the sun longer thinking of all the jobs I'll do when the weather breaks. Making plans to eat out each night with friends and fully embrace it 🍷

CharlotteRose90 · 18/07/2021 19:28

No it’s too hot , I can’t sleep and I have to work in a sweaty airport in a uniform and tights I can’t take off. Plus a face mask
It sucks and needs to go away now.

MeowPurrGrr · 18/07/2021 19:30

Absolutely hate it this hot! Working 12 hours on a non air conditioned ward tomorrow and I'm dreading it! Impossible to drink enough fluids, feeling the sweat dripping down my nose under my mask and pooling sweat in plastic gloves…yeah I attract all the Drs Grin

Slimmingstar · 18/07/2021 19:32

Love it! Spent the weekend hiking Nude in the Peak District and wild swimming. Dog loved it too - in and out of the water and a cool, wet tea towel around his neck.

cheapskatemum · 18/07/2021 19:34

I am enjoying it, I must confess.

Fallstar · 18/07/2021 19:35

I love it! I also enjoy being active when it's hot and I loathe air conditioning but I appreciate that I may be unusual.

ResIpsaLoquiturInterAlia · 18/07/2021 19:39

Amazing lazy weekend relaxing weather. Barbecue al fresco dinning, good food, fine wine, chilled music, pool side and great company - what’s not to love! Bring it on before madness no rules manic Monday s people forget the little matter that has hit the globe for almost two years and go super brave and unmasked.

TheatricalGiraffe · 18/07/2021 19:40

I hate it..and I struggle to understand why other people love it when its like this..

What's fun about being a hot sweaty mess feeling lethargic and having no energy to do anything? Then feeling sick because of the heat and not being able to sleep.

I'm excited for work tomorrow, theres one thing sitting with two fans on and the curtains shut..but that air conditioned office is calling

diamondpony80 · 18/07/2021 19:41

I’m not. I usually pay to go abroad and enjoy this kind of weather, but I don’t like it at home at all. I guess it’d be ok if I had the week off and could just sunbathe all day, but when I’ve got things to do I feel like a horrible, sweaty mess all day long.

tanqueray10 · 18/07/2021 19:41

Way too hot for my liking! No energy and just can’t get anything done without feeling like i’m going to pass out. Not to mention the bugs and flies. 🤢
October is my happy time 🍂

FlaminEckVera · 18/07/2021 19:42

I think it's OK if you don't have to go to work in it.

People who are retired/SAHP etc will enjoy it more than someone stuck in a stuffy workplace 8.30 am to 5pm!

FlaminEckVera · 18/07/2021 19:44

Personally I would like it to be 4-5 degrees C cooler - like 25 ish. 30 C is a bit much tbh, and it's making life so uncomfortable for the wee furry friends around me. Sad

Not all of us feel like this in the heat.
I am sorry you do.
I find warm energy energising.

TheatricalGiraffe · 18/07/2021 19:44

@ShrikeAttack Abroad has this magical thing called "Air-Con"...it's not really comparable to the majority of british homes which are built to keep heat in..

We had the windows open on both sides trying to create some air flow...so now the living room is just as hot but full of flies..

hookiewookie29 · 18/07/2021 19:46

Redhead here with a sun allergy!
You can guess my reply.......Hmm

namesnamesnamesnames · 18/07/2021 19:46

Yes yes and bloody yes! I'm lucky, our children love the beach so we've been there. A bit cooler.

I know it's awful for many though, hard especially if working when it's very hot or pregnant. I remember that well.

DoTheNextRightThing · 18/07/2021 19:47

Hate it!! Just feel like a big sweaty puddle 24/7

WeatheringStorms22 · 18/07/2021 19:48

Like others have said I love it abroad. But abroad you have nothing to do except enjoy.

Trying to 'do' normal daily life in a furnace - washing, cleaning, shopping - I find miserable. Being in the car especially.

coogee · 18/07/2021 19:48

I’m loving it. My husband is loving it. The cat appears to be loving too. He probably thinks he is back home where 40°C isn’t that unusual

LouLou789 · 18/07/2021 19:49

No, hate it. We’ve just had a holiday on the Isle of Wight and it was lovely there with a sea breeze but back home, horrendous!

LimitIsUp · 18/07/2021 19:51

@ShrikeAttack

All you heat-haters, don't you ever go abroad?

I'm a big fan of all the weather. Lots of places have hotter summers and colder winters. I guess we're just used to a very temperate climate here.

Lots of UK houses are built poorly for anything beyond a fairly narrow range of temperatures.

Yes, pre pandemic I travelled a lot. I don't do beaches or sun worshipping though. There's more than one type of holiday, and you can visit hot countries when they are cooler. I did Western Australia during their winter
onemouseplace · 18/07/2021 19:52

Hate it. I do not deal well with this sort of weather. DD1 is the same and is a grumpy, sweaty, hormonal tween mess. DH and DS love it an absolutely fine. DD2 is somewhere in the middle.

peachcherries · 18/07/2021 19:54

@bethabean

No! I've been at the F1 and it has been so uncomfortable due to the heat
I was thinking of everyone there whilst watching at home. Silverstone busy is uncomfortable at the best of times, let alone in this heat!
