To ask if anyone is actually enjoying this weather?

I have felt sick and tired all day. Can't get comfortable, didn't sleep last night etc. Is anyone actually enjoying it as I am certainly not. Dreading work tomorrow also.

The perfect temperature is about 23 degrees. In bloody SE England its always either raining and 17 or less or 28-32. Rubbish.

Ginevere · 18/07/2021 19:11

Thanks @Hardbackwriter! It’s a nightmare isn’t it! I take your point about babies in hotter countries, and I keep reminding myself of this, but I’m a FTM so everything feels scary- especially the shiny red egg that says the room is too hot!!!

Seesawmummadaw · 18/07/2021 19:12

Loving it.

MissChanandlerBong22 · 18/07/2021 19:12

I used to love this sort of weather before I became a parent. But now I’m a lot less of a fan. I’m pregnant and feeling so nauseous so I’ve really struggled today. Chasing a two year old around trying to put sun cream on them is no fun - and as for getting them to sleep tonight, forget about it. Not to mention ensuring the dog stays cool - he needs loads of water, can’t take him out and it won’t be cool enough to walk him till well after 9pm, etc.

But I do get why people love it so much because I used to when I was young and fun 😂

Furrydogmum · 18/07/2021 19:12

Nope, red head, overweight, perimenopausal and had 2nd jab today - feeling quite ugh!!

Furrydogmum · 18/07/2021 19:12

And my dogs are fed up too!

MarshaBradyo · 18/07/2021 19:13

Yes I love it

squid12346 · 18/07/2021 19:15

Nope hate it. Had a bday party for my son at home. Hired a open air bouncy castle for the kids. They couldn't go on it for more than a few mins each time as it was way too hot. And there I was worried about it raining on the day!

LadyPoison · 18/07/2021 19:15

No problems here - have cleared out the spare room. Moved a double bed upstairs. Done a tip run and several loads of washing.

I do feel sorry for the dog though. He's not enjoying it at all.

ShrikeAttack · 18/07/2021 19:15

All you heat-haters, don't you ever go abroad?

I'm a big fan of all the weather. Lots of places have hotter summers and colder winters. I guess we're just used to a very temperate climate here.

Lots of UK houses are built poorly for anything beyond a fairly narrow range of temperatures.

Stroopwaffle5000 · 18/07/2021 19:15

Love it! Went to the river this morning and spent the day swimming and chilling. Got home at 3.30 and spent the rest of the day in the garden/paddling pool with the kids. I'm getting a great tan!

Secondbellini · 18/07/2021 19:16

No. It is like being in a giant burning wicker man.

Jackgrealishscurtains · 18/07/2021 19:17

No. I don't know why it either has to piss it down or be the temperature of the surface of the sun. Can we not have a nice in between?

Exactly. The fuck is wrong with this country?!!!

Hardbackwriter · 18/07/2021 19:17

@Ginevere

Thanks *@Hardbackwriter*! It’s a nightmare isn’t it! I take your point about babies in hotter countries, and I keep reminding myself of this, but I’m a FTM so everything feels scary- especially the shiny red egg that says the room is too hot!!!
Yes, it was exactly that egg I was thinking of when I said that - I remember being so stressed about the stupid red thing sitting there reprimanding me for not magically being able to cool our room!
Echobelly · 18/07/2021 19:18

Yes - my husband! Insanely, he loves 30C+ weather; the rest of us totally go to pieces

FlyingPandas · 18/07/2021 19:19

I like it when I’m on holiday and I can sit by a pool, cool off in said pool and not do anything.

I don’t like it when I have to clean out pets, prepare meals etc etc. I never understand it when people say just don’t do any chores when it’s hot-some can’t be left. Doing housework or meal prep in this kind of weather is miserable.

Blossomtoes · 18/07/2021 19:19

Hell yes. It’s amazing, particularly as we get so little of it. 😎

pangolina · 18/07/2021 19:19

I'm loving it. I grew up in a hot country and I'm enjoying every single second

YesPleaseMary · 18/07/2021 19:19

I’ve come to England from Scotland for a few days to visit family and I can’t believe how stiflingly, unbearably hot it is… it’s 29 degrees here but 10 degrees cooler at home… I miss my nice cool house!

Chicchicchicchiclana · 18/07/2021 19:20

I love the sun, love the blue skies, love to see other people out and about enjoying themselves.

Unfortunately I am fair skinned and burn really easily, I don't like the feeling of sweat on the skin, and I lose what little energy I have. I never, ever "sit in the sun". Let's not even mention the flies.

I won't moan about it though - it's rare and most people love it. It's very killjoy to complain about something that only happens a few days a year in the UK.

I like getting all my white bedding and towels washed and out on the line in brilliant sunshine.

tintodeverano2 · 18/07/2021 19:20

I'd enjoy it if I had a pool and air conditioning

lljkk · 18/07/2021 19:22

I am loving the hot weather. Generally do.

YesPleaseMary · 18/07/2021 19:23

@ShrikeAttack yes, but not until autumn when places like Majorca are a pleasant 24 degrees

Fros · 18/07/2021 19:23

Hate it.
I shut the house up to keep the sun/heat out, but it's 30c outside (in the shade) atm.
In this kind of weather, my brain doesn't work, I feel nauseated, I have no appetite or energy, I can't sleep properly, my head starts spinning if I do anything more energetic than climbing the stairs - and that's without mentioning the fact that I'm drenched!
Add in the ridiculous hay-fever this year too and it's just utterly miserable right now (doesn't help that I've just had a message that my grocery delivery this evening has been cancelled tooHmm)

fucksat50 · 18/07/2021 19:24

I don't usually like really hot weather but we have enjoyed it this weekend
