I have felt sick and tired all day. Can't get comfortable, didn't sleep last night etc. Is anyone actually enjoying it as I am certainly not. Dreading work tomorrow also.

I fucking hate it. 28 weeks pregnant, miserable, hot, hormonal, sticky, clammy, mess.
I’m also pale as fuck and cba to fake tan as I have a massive bump that requires a bottle of its own.
Ive also got my GTT test tomorrow on the top floor of a baking hospital with no air con.
I’m fuming!

Imissmoominmama · 18/07/2021 18:59

I am permanently soaked through, but I don’t care - I love sunshine.

lokomojo · 18/07/2021 19:00

I hate it I'm melting last night I slept on the roof in desperation

Ginevere · 18/07/2021 19:00

Absolutely hate it. I have a 2 week old baby so have spent the whole day stressing about keeping her cool, struggling to breastfeed and with her screaming her head off. I had prepared myself for this as I knew I had a summer baby but the reality is so much worse 😩

Roussette · 18/07/2021 19:00

Loving every minute. Wish it would stay like this till October!

(sorry)

LemonFantaGin · 18/07/2021 19:01

Loving every second of it!!

AlexaShutUp · 18/07/2021 19:01

I'm quite enjoying it, but it isn't that hot where I am - I think it was around 31 degrees, which is quite manageable. I don't like it when it gets really hot though.

Ah, you do have my sympathies - DS1 was born in the mega heatwave of 2018 and it was tough. Just try and remember that babies are born in hot countries and they're fine, it makes it very slightly less stressful when the stupid room thermometer keeps telling you that it's too hot!
Musication · 18/07/2021 19:02

I adore it. But lived many years in the tropics where it was hotter than this all year so it's not so hot for me! I love how the sun on my skin feels and I like the outdoors vibe and the cheerfulness of most people out and about.

Carboholic · 18/07/2021 19:03

Loving it!!!

wjg65ka · 18/07/2021 19:03

No I'm 35 weeks pregnant isolating with an irritable toddler and I want to throw up because of the heat

gardeninggirl68 · 18/07/2021 19:03

its just summer

i like it when i'm not working!

ImInStealthMode · 18/07/2021 19:04

Love it and have spent all weekend at the beach (appreciate we are very lucky to have beach on the doorstep and wouldn't fancy it much in a city).

NewYearNewTwatName · 18/07/2021 19:04

I am enjoying it Smile

I'm fine working outside in it, because I'm moving about, had a lovely day at work, Yesterday it was glorious going out for couple of hours in the afternoon round a big Park/gardens catching up with a friend and eating icecream.

but I cannot sit or lay still in the sun, it makes me feel very unwell, and I'm not keen on sticky nights either.

Cottonheadedninymuggins · 18/07/2021 19:04

No, hating it. The sooner it gets to October the better personally.

LemonSherbetFancies · 18/07/2021 19:04

Also, DP has thrown up and nearly passed out earlier due to the heat. He has RA and his meds make him vulnerable to the heat Sad

Nope hate it! We have an amazing south facing garden, which is ok until it’s as warm as the devils scrotum with barely any shade. Trying to keep my 2 year olds twins covered & topped up with sun cream is a massive chore. Especially when I’ve got shit to do. And don’t get me started on how warm their rooms are and how long it will take them to go to sleep 🥵🔥😤

MrsJBaptiste · 18/07/2021 19:06

LOVE IT!!!

We get dull weather for approximately 50 out of 52 weeks so please let us sun worshippers have our few days of ☀️

I've sat in the garden, walked to the pub and am now back in the garden with wine. Sat in the shade loving the warm evening 🥂

Titsywoo · 18/07/2021 19:06

Yes - been gardening all afternoon and it's lovely. I'm lucky that my bedroom rarely gets too hot being on the ground floor and north facing so I'll be able to sleep tonight. The only time I hate hot weather is when I can't sleep.

TheMoth · 18/07/2021 19:07

Love it. I spend most of the year feeling cold, so this is fabulous. Didn't even mind that it took an hour to get to the beach.

Us too. Lesson learned - next house I am looking for a north facing garden!
Lemonandlime123 · 18/07/2021 19:09

Ugh no, currently breastfeeding my baby and we are both sweaty messes!!

LiveatCityHall · 18/07/2021 19:09

If we had a pool nearby or in the garden I'd probably love it. As it is, I'm starting the menopause and this heat combined with my hot flushes and night sweats don't mix. I never know what to wear and never feel cool enough. I much prefer winter!!!

Lipz · 18/07/2021 19:10

I absolutely adore hot weather, we go abroad every year, I actually pick dates that will be the sunniest and hottest, however, where I live when we get nice weather it's a fuckin disaster, the house has no air con, opening windows is a no no because ndn cats keep coming in, I can't sit in my lovely back garden because of the music blaring from the houses, kids screeching like banshees, smells of rotten bodies from bbqs, so I have to sit on my drive way, which is uncomfortable and faces a road.

The shops don't put on air con, so you're dripping sweat the whole way round, public transport turns on the heat and you're sitting in a pool of sweat. People are cranky and impatient.

Whereas when you're away, there's air con everywhere, you can walk around shops and sit in restaurants comfortably and sleep well as the rooms are cool, people are not walking around screeching like banshees and blaring their music, the smell of food coming from the restaurants smells gorgeous and inviting, not like dead bodies.

If I had never travelled abroad I would say I hate hot weather judging by where I live, unfortunately some countries are just not set up for when they do get hot weather.

Mintjulia · 18/07/2021 19:11

I love it, Smile

The trick is to slow down and adjust. So drink more water, wear loose cotton or linen clothes, open windows front and back to create a through-draft, close curtains or blinds to keep sun out of rooms you want to be cooler.
Slow down, do any physical work in early morning or later in the afternoon when it's cooler.
