To ask if anyone is actually enjoying this weather?

I have felt sick and tired all day. Can't get comfortable, didn't sleep last night etc. Is anyone actually enjoying it as I am certainly not. Dreading work tomorrow also.

Hate it. I love the sun, don’t get me wrong, but the house feels like a sauna, it’s impossible to concentrate, I can’t sleep, I feel sick, my entire body is soggy and has been for days… I could go on.

Everyone who’s enjoying it seems to have a really cool house, a lovely garden, time off work and easy access to a pool or lake - I might like it better in those circumstances. Grin

I absolutely love it. I suffer really badly with my mood when it's cold and wet. I struggle hugely in winter with the dark, cold damp days.

This time of year I'm outside as much as possie. I feel like I get so much more put of my life asi can be in the garden, enjoying the sunshine, have all the doors and windows open and it's just warm and bright and happy.

Only downside is not walking the dogs until really late in the evening as I'm an early ed early to rise type.

In winter I feel I'm wasting my life being inside watching TV. This time of year I don't come inside until gone 9pm.

inspite of my username i HATE hot weather, much prefer autum, cosy sweaters and hot chocolate, bliss.

AlwaysLatte · 19/07/2021 20:11

It is too hot for me. But I gave up on the housework this afternoon and had a water fight with the children instead!

Yesitsbess · 19/07/2021 20:59

I work in gardens for a living and I am hating pretty much all the weather we've had since April down here.

Late frosts? Check!

Relentless sodding rain? Check!!

PERIODS OF HEAT SO INTENSE I FEEL LIKE THE LITTLE ROBOT WHO LIVES ON MARS? CHECK!!!

I am supposed to be working on a 200 foot long hedge tomorrow.... Wine

@Disneyblue

Well no, I can't just put an extra jumper on, as I explained in the rest of my post you quoted.

Benjispruce5 · 19/07/2021 21:29

Would love a swim in the sea but that would entail a drive of at least 3 hrs. Boiling in my classroom. One more (hot) sleep and at least that part will be over.
Am now sitting outside as it’s cool enough.

Hankunamatata · 19/07/2021 21:29

Usually would hate. But have decamped to relative who loves on the beach and we swimming in the very cold sea

That's how I feel about winter, it's like waiting to die. Absolutely love the summer.

hopingforabrighterfuture2021 · 19/07/2021 21:49

Hate it! At work and it is absolutely boiling and on my feet most of the day, often outside too. If I was on holiday I’d be fine, but it’s miserable at the moment! Roll on end of term…

Phoebesgift · 19/07/2021 21:52

Hate feeling sweat dripping off me. My skin breaks out in spots, I get huge insect bites, my hair goes brassy blonde and work in a school is hellish. Love the rain!

I quite agree. The ambient temperature is key. Putting on another layer doesn't really work.

elprup · 19/07/2021 23:09

Hate it - counting down the days until Friday when it looks to be significantly cooler!

Yes it is. There are 52 weeks in the year of which maybe 4 in total are "heatwave" weather. The other 48 are varying degrees of shit.

@SoupDragon Perhaps you should go live in the Sahara Desert then. Most countries have seasons Confused

Disneyblue · 19/07/2021 23:47

Whatever. I still don't like it too hot. Sorry if that offends you

SlothinSpirit · 19/07/2021 23:59

Not a fan.

My DC won't sleep at night and, despite a room fan, keeps waking up drenched in sweat and distressed. During the daytime, we're fighting over who gets to sit in the (tiny) paddling pool and I'm stalking them with the factor 50.

I would enjoy it much more if I was on holiday with a proper pool and air con at night Grin.

I hate it. I needed to do some photography outside today so I was in the garden at 7am. Lovely and cool.

kissmelittleass · 20/07/2021 00:33

Can't stand it

speakout · 20/07/2021 06:48

I lve it too- my house feels twice the size- sliding doors open, my living room extends onto a patio and then the garden. All my windows and doors are open, it feels like living outdoors.
I also love padding about in bare feet, inside and out. My feet are smiling!

rantymcrantface66 · 20/07/2021 08:02

Yes, love it. Went out to meet friends last night at 6pm and the car thermometer was reading 31c. I know these can be inaccurate but it was parked fully in the shade not in any direct sun. It's amazing not having to worry about bringing lots of layers for when I get cold. I'm off work though. I'd probably be annoyed I was missing out if I wasn't.

Ledkr · 20/07/2021 08:05

This is where the much loathed on mn "sex pond" comes into ita own.
Heater off, cool water to dip in and coool down any time you overheat which is several times a day here Grin

dottiedodah · 20/07/2021 08:10

I find heat like this very uncomfortable .We live in a cool detached house ,but the front room is south facing and like a conservatory! Also 10 mins by car from the beach ,but packed and tooo hot for me! At night very warm .Fan on all night .Found putting a damp flannel on my face/neck /under my arm helped a little .Just want a warm sunny day typical English Summer .Not to feel like we have moved to Spain

FreeBritnee · 20/07/2021 08:12
