Reporting someone for failing to isolate

Under what circumstances would you report someone for failing to isolate? Would you report any breach, no breach, or would it depend on circumstances?

I've been told by a friend that a family member of theirs (should be isolating because someone they live with has tested positive) is not isolating, and is even going out to work- and they work with vulnerable people in a medical environment!

Should I report them regardless of the possible consequences on my friend (who will be blamed if they get caught)? Or encourage my friend to do the same, again despite the consequences?

I'm torn!

I would as one of my parents is going through chemo and has recently had covid, the only place they have been going is hospital to get chemo. They are very unwell and I think anyone in a clinical environment not isolating when they should is selfish and deserves to be reported.

Exceptional circumstances like being short staffed...I'm sure they will risk assess etc but come on that's going to be...they could get Covid yes but then they could have no care so...

I'm wondering what exceptional circumstances would look like to justify turning up for work with an infectious disease that could potentially kill its clients base.

I would never do it.
I did tell a friend who was thinking about going round to another’s that her dd was isolating from school so maybe not a good idea as she’s paranoid about Covid, but by the date she had come out of isolation so I was wrong. It didn’t really matter and onus was on my friend really to check w the mutual, but it’s v easy to get wrong end of stick.

Well you need to ask the care providers and policy makers that question as they'll be the ones making the decisions about if a worker who is exposed as a contact is required to attend work or not.

Nah, easier to blame the workers though isn't it?!

It doesn’t look like this particular worker has told her employer though does it ?
