If they said “its a pleasure to announce I’m leaving”

DifficultPifcultLemonDifficult · 14/07/2021 16:26

I would find that hilarious 🤣

MissCrowley · 14/07/2021 16:26

I'd laugh to!

SpeckledlyHen · 14/07/2021 16:26

Ha ha ha - I think I would crack up reading that. Very witty..

Cloudninenine · 14/07/2021 16:27

No, I’d think it was funny

GiantWingedWaspMoth · 14/07/2021 16:27

Sounds more honest than rude.

Unless there's more to it that you aren't saying...

MaMelon · 14/07/2021 16:27

Nope, I love that.
Bargebill19 · 14/07/2021 16:28

pilates · 14/07/2021 16:28

No, I would just smile and nod

Twickerhun · 14/07/2021 16:28

That’s funny nny

HollowTalk · 14/07/2021 16:28

I suppose if I was the owner-manager of a small business I might be offended but otherwise I'd think it was funny.

Pitmanshorthand · 14/07/2021 16:29

No, it’s funny

firealarmhell · 14/07/2021 16:29

Could be worse. I left a "Sorry for your loss" card on my last day.

Sally872 · 14/07/2021 16:30

I would laugh. Many don't love their job I wouldn't be offended.

AlternativePerspective · 14/07/2021 16:30

I would laugh.

Googlewasmyidea1 · 14/07/2021 16:31

Funny

Wrotten · 14/07/2021 16:31

Good for them!

CounsellorTroi · 14/07/2021 16:31

I remember colleagues who were retiring would send emails along the lines of "there will be a meeting of the escape committee in Conference Room B at 4pm after which we will make a break for the pub at 5pm". But I suppose retiring is different to leaving for another job!

SingingSands · 14/07/2021 16:31

Getting their digs in whilst they can?

One ex-colleague gave a leaving speech and said she was "honoured" to be leaving us to work for a "worthwhile charity", then lectured us all about "how easy our lives are" and finished with "any monkey can do this job". Awkward faces all round.

I later found out that the "worthwhile charity" didn't pay her for 4 months, so she had to leave and find another job in the private sector she'd flounced out of.

redcarbluecar · 14/07/2021 16:32

I think I’d need a bit of context with that. It sounds amusing on the surface.

Minfilia · 14/07/2021 16:33

Brilliant!

SisterBeaverhausen · 14/07/2021 16:33

I said worse when I left my last job 😂

frogswimming · 14/07/2021 16:35

Well they wouldn't be leaving if they didn't want to!

BlueSurfer · 14/07/2021 16:35

Unless there is a drip feed of a backstory, I wouldn’t find it rude at all.
