A library thought it appropriate to book this 'entertainment' for children and I feel sick

I thought it was a joke, a photoshop job, a hoax even but it's not.

WTF

A children's entertainer in a library with this costume?

Oh dear @brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. You really need this spelling out to you, don’t you? 😂

Children who have pets or visit zoos or farms are likely to catch sight of animals’ genitals and to see animals having sex. This is because animals do not wear clothes, and they do not have social rules around privacy and modesty. Animals also do not groom or abuse human children.

Humans, on the other hand, wear clothes in most situations. We have developed social rules around the wearing of clothes for warmth and for privacy. We do not show our naked bodies to children (although our own children might see us naked which is obviously fine provided we are not child abusers), we also don’t have sex in front of children.

Other things that animals do that humans generally don’t:

Shitting in public
Throwing faeces
Publicly removing lice from each other’s hair.

@brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

yes you will

was this colourful monkey character having sex with someone ?

Simulated sex inside a library at a family event where the annual Reading Challenge was launched not disgusting enough for you then? Eeewwwww.
chickenyhead · 14/07/2021 16:37

My DD8 just had sex education today.

I was so relieved when she came out of class, reacting like a normal 8 year old girl who had never been exposed to a male human penis before. She was eeewwwwing and laughing.

I was far more concerned about her classmate, who on seeing the same picture, exclaimed that it looked like a babies dummy and they should suck it.

I'm hoping that was innocent for that child's sake.

Tomorrow, I am concerned because apparently the topic will be "touching". Let's hope dildo butt monkey isn't there eh?

MrsWooster · 14/07/2021 17:46

brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
did you read the post that talked about how her abuser wore an apron with bare chest and a fake penis on and everyone laughed and thought it was so funny when he made her touch it. Then he abused her and she didn't know how to tell anyone it was wrong because they'd all laughed before...?
I read it and I keep thinking about it and about that girl who was abused and how she'd been confused by the adults around her and how different it should have been.

I hope you're not responsible for safeguarding any children.

Congressdingo · 14/07/2021 18:02

@BrozTito

Erm so dont vote either maybe? You cool with FGM, upskirting,MRAs? dont give it the 'dont have a choice' fucking nonsense. You just love money too much.
We get paid for voting now? Fab where's my cheque?
NettleTea · 14/07/2021 18:50

@RedDogsBeg

Surely nobody is this stupid? I worry about the level of intelligence in this country sometimes.

It is worrying isn't it, even more so when you realise that they are seemingly deemed to have enough intellectual capacity to vote.

This colourful monkey character would fit it very well at the Kanama Matsuri festival in Japan, if you’re not familiar with it, here’s a sense of what it’s about

Wind up merchant.

Ninkanink · 14/07/2021 20:04

Yes just another numpty playing idiotic games.

Emanchego · 14/07/2021 20:11

Possible nonce.

KilljoysDutch · 14/07/2021 20:34

Can I ask a genuine question? Why is this being blamed on LGBTQA+ rights? Or Trans rights? I can't see anything that mentions this being anything to do with those things?

Furries · 14/07/2021 20:39

It isn’t being blamed on that at all.

It's not. People are objecting to RainbowDildoButtMonkey because it was blatantly inappropriate for lots of reasons.

Those people objecting to it have been called transphobic / homophobic etc.

On here no one is blaming lgb+

On Twitter is different.
On here we are all about the safeguarding aspect. It's in Aibu not fwr so cannot be blamed on us harridans in there.
Far as I can see we women (mostly) are bothered about boundaries being pushed and pushed. And we are pushing back. Lgb has fuck all to do with this instance.

NiceGerbil · 14/07/2021 20:47

Those who want to say what's the problem get over fear of genitals etc are saying that the original people saying wtf and putting it on Twitter

Were motivated by transphobia and someone said 'whipped up' a wider response.

This is not linked in any way to trans anything.

Anyone who thinks that seeing human dicks where real or facsimile is something women and girls need to relax about is... Well. I'll leave it there.

Etorih · 14/07/2021 20:54

It's not about those things. It's about the need of some males to get their dicks out in public. In front of women and kids. And when they can't get the real thing out in a library (for now) they like to strap a false one on themselves and simulate having sex with eachother. Also in public. And in libraries.

It's not ok.

Waitwhat23 · 14/07/2021 21:34

www.spiked-online.com/2021/07/13/the-rainbow-dildo-butt-monkey-is-no-laughing-matter/

It's not being blamed on LGBT+ or trans rights. However if you heavily market one form of highly sexualised adult entertainment to children, you can see why people have linked the first group to another heavily sexualised form of adult entertainment which has been marketed by the library as suitable for children.

NiceGerbil · 14/07/2021 21:42

It is being linked to awful 'gc' women making a fuss a fair bit from what I've seen.

The link has been made by those who are supposed to be supportive of trans rights which is pretty weird.

Thinking about it though.

Coming after the wispa incident, where the response was either it's a hoax, or, it's only a dick women and girls need to get used to it, it's only some skin etc.

For the second group, their response to wispa means that they cannot now say anything is wrong with dildo monkey, can they.

Sorry it was posts like the following that made it seem like it was being blamed on LGBT groups.

"
FFS, normal LGB people have fought for decades to get away from the automatic ‘dodgy pedos’ insinuations.

To now have it celebrated and snuck in with all the Q+ alphabet additions is an affront. We are now expected to accept ‘nappy fetishes’ and this sick shit as part of our community."

"I accept that the 'LGBTQ+ community' does not represent many many individual who fall under these letters. Nevertheless where this is how it is branded and how it is presented and therefore is the only name for this group we have to respond to."

"I don't understand why they want the 'LGBT community' betrayed in this way. They are supposed to be just normal people. What's wrong g with getting actors in dressed as actual characters from stories to read those stories. Including characters of the opposite sex."

"And thus is the problem, we are being gaslighted into thinking we must accept this kind of deviant behaviour because it comes in rainbow colours. If you see a problem with it you are clearly not inclusive enough. Its bullshit.
I feel sorry for LGBT people who are being dragged down by this crap."

I'm sure you can agree these posts seem to act like it's the LGBT community who are to blame for this perverseness.

RedDogsBeg · 14/07/2021 22:10

I think the issue that poster is trying to put across is that due to the rainbow coloured costume and the fact the rainbow is associated with LGB the two things will be, wrongly, connected and the backlash that could cause against the LGB community.

MrsWooster · 14/07/2021 22:15

I interpreted the quotes you used as more despairing about the way that LGB groups are being associated with this sort of shite, undoing years of trying to escape from the slur of ‘gay= pedo’. This monkey and assorted furry losers cavort around at Pride, cuckooing onto the hard-won acceptance of lgb.

WhatMattersMost · 14/07/2021 22:28

@brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

yes you will

was this colourful monkey character having sex with someone ?

Dearie me, @brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

You appear to have confused "logical fallacy" with "logical phallusy".

waterlego · 14/07/2021 23:42

@KilljoysDutch, that poster wasn’t blaming LGBT people themselves. Rather, I think this concern is around the Q part of the rainbow community.

Queer, as I understand it, was ‘reclaimed’ by some sectors of the gay community, having been previously used as a slur. But the word has now come to have a much broader meaning and is being used by some to include fetishes and paraphilias, hence ‘furries’ and BDSM interests have become a feature of Pride marches. Many posters, including those who are themselves part of the LGBT community, feel aggrieved that after spending years having to reassure and convince conservative and religious types that their sexuality is not a perversion, and they are not a risk to children, they now find that actual perves are trying to sneak under the LGBT umbrella with them and make them all look bad.

waterlego · 14/07/2021 23:45

…especially when you consider that a proportion of people who identify as being ‘queer’ are in fact just straight people with fetishes/kinks.

I’d be bloody pissed off with them all if I was gay.
