I thought it was a joke, a photoshop job, a hoax even but it's not.

WTF

A children's entertainer in a library with this costume?

What the hell is this?

A children's "character" shouldn't have any genitalia on show, male or female, and it was highly inappropriate. My DC have been taught the PANTS rules by us and also by school, how can that message be delivered to children at the same time as showing them rainbow monkeys with their wang out for everyone to see?

Cabinfever10 · 11/07/2021 23:24

@househousehousefox if you go into the talk menu then scroll down to feminism and then you want the sex and gender board it's quite near the top sorry can't link on my phone

Hercisback · 11/07/2021 23:24

It's hard.

Definitely inappropriate for children. Who thought it was OK?

Whatwouldscullydo · 11/07/2021 23:26

Who ever thought that was OK to show children needs sacking.

TheFairyCaravan · 11/07/2021 23:26

Fucking hell! Whoever booked that needs the sack

Mummyoflittledragon · 11/07/2021 23:27

Staff at the library initially found it funny and exchanged messages about it with Exeter library.

Grooming. Why are these people working in libraries?!

Libraries are mostly staffed by untrained volunteers now, because councils didn’t want to pay for qualified librarians with safeguarding training etc. This is the result.

This tweet shows a photo from inside the library.

More the the sack, investigating. I feel that as places of safety for paedos (church, schools, rural areas) diminish that this is the new place to congregate.

Whatsnewpussyhat · 11/07/2021 23:31

But it would be ok if it was small? Or female?

No female has a penis.

Yes, I know. Check the context of what I was replying to...

Why are people voting YABU?!

Cos, ya know, the kids should just not look.....

BastardMonkfish · 11/07/2021 23:34

That is grim.

PosyBoo · 11/07/2021 23:39

As a parent to a young child, I genuinely find this truly horrifying. I just can’t wrap my head around how many safe guarding procedures have been missed here and by so many people! Absolutely shocking!

Good point. Horrendous.
BeachPicture · 11/07/2021 23:42

The tweets say children were encouraged to go and touch the appendage? People are asking for police and child protection to review.
WTAF if that statement is true.

wohmum · 11/07/2021 23:43

Horrendous. Who on earth thought this was appropriate. Someone should be sacked for this.

Do we have any proof of that?

Best to stick to the facts, which as we can see from pictures and videos are someone in an inappropriate costume promoting a reading event.

Let's not make shit up or start spreading rumours until we actually have evidence.

JaneJeffer · 11/07/2021 23:46

What do you mean female? Since when does a female have a dick?

TurquoiseBaubles · 11/07/2021 23:47

6% think it's ok?

Bloody hell, the world really has gone mad.

Whatonearth07957 · 11/07/2021 23:48

I'm angry. Angry that this gets minimised. Angry at those who decide.
