I just don’t get all the fuss about stupid football

So I’m sitting in bed about go to sleep and all I can hear outside is cheering, horns beeping people shouting etc because England are through to the final. It means nothing to me. Just a massive money spinning industry.

Am I honestly the only person who doesn’t give a flying fig about it all? I actually feel sorry for the sheeple who are using it to bring excitement to their otherwise quite boring lives.

Sure I will be totally flamed for this, but I honestly wish it would just all go away.

Also, as a side note, it’s the Euros but wonder how many England supporters actually voted for Brexit 🤔 Or is that actually why people are so invested in it?

If it could come home a little more quietly, that would be grand.

Half an hour so far of singing, shouting, car horns blaring, people in the road etc. It's only a small town but you'd think this was Manchester City centre with the amount of noise going on out there.

Just waiting for the inevitable 'football fans spreading Coronavirus' etc etc comment next.
Considering the pandemic is still in going, large numbers of people mixing, some vaxed, some not, then logically somewhere the viruses are being spread.

Football isn't my thing at all but I had it on in the background and feel pleased that it's making so many people happy. We all like different things and right now, anything that brings in a bit of brightness is very welcome.

I'm not a football fan. I'd be hard pushed to name more than about 3 current footballers.
I always say I'll watch if we get to the semi finals.
I cried when we won tonight Grin

Although i agree that people being too loud is very annoying. If I had work tomorrow I'd be moaning.

My life is bloody brilliant, thank you... I dont really care about football but people need something to make them happy so why not football? I watched the game with my DP, it was good.

Obviously the Lions tour is FAR more important...!

I'm with you OP. I can't watch a sport that pays 17 and 18 year olds tens of millions of pounds a year to kick a ball around. And charges £££ for shoddy relics kit.
And then how dare those same 17 and 18 year olds use their fame and influence to campaign for free school meals or anti-racism! (NB I realise that Marcus Rashford is actually 23 and Raheem Sterling is a bit older but the point still stands)
