I just don’t get all the fuss about stupid football

So I’m sitting in bed about go to sleep and all I can hear outside is cheering, horns beeping people shouting etc because England are through to the final. It means nothing to me. Just a massive money spinning industry.

Am I honestly the only person who doesn’t give a flying fig about it all? I actually feel sorry for the sheeple who are using it to bring excitement to their otherwise quite boring lives.

Sure I will be totally flamed for this, but I honestly wish it would just all go away.

Also, as a side note, it’s the Euros but wonder how many England supporters actually voted for Brexit 🤔 Or is that actually why people are so invested in it?

What a shame for you. I feel really sad for you that you will never feel the joy/despair/adrenaline rollercoaster that is what being a sports fan is about. I hope you are able to find something to bring you joy and excitement.

I'm not a football fan either. But its a lot less boringly mind numbing that the dreaded Wimbledon we are subjected to every year for a whole month.

It’s not important in the great scheme of things. After the last year and a bit it’s nice to have something positive. And Brexit is completely irrelevant- Quarter Final was against Ukraine.

Just had 35 minutes of neighbours letting off very very loud fireworks. I have no interest whatsoever in football and resent having to listen to these idiots shouting and singing. I am not an animal person but even I felt sorry for the pets around here.

Well I like football generally although I haven’t had much time for it since having children.

To me it’s a bit like getting into strictly early on so there’s something to be a bit interested in! Very straitened times and all that!

Well, I'll Scottish and live in Wales, so don't really give a shit.

But even still, it is a large, national event. I don't understand why people give a shit about the Royal family and their weddings. Or rugby. Or the Olympics. Or Waitrose. But there we go.

Why would it involve Brexit? Aren’t Russia sometimes in it? And Turkey were in it - they played Switzerland! The first Euros match I remember from childhood involved the USSR!
