To ask how old your sofa is?

Purchasing a new property with DP, we currently have a blue bulky recliner sofa. It only seats two people. I want to get a new bigger one, that isn’t blue or pleather, he says i’m being unreasonable as the sofa is only 2 years old…

I was scrolling the sofology website and they’re giving 20 year guarantees on sofas- i couldn’t imagine having mine for that long!

How old is your sofa and how often do you replace it?

Is there another room in the new place you can put it in?? 2 years is probably too soon to be chucking it but I get it if it's not right for a new house.

Mine is about 12 or 13... I think it's probably got some good years left in it yet!
My mum's living room set is 20-ish, and she's also got a sofa that belonged to her grandparents in their later years, and could easily be 50-plus! It's been re-upholstered at least twice though.

We've had ours for 17 years but they were given to us by friends who'd had them for about 15 years before that. They're absolutely knackered, full of holes and the cushions are worn through but still comfy - we just cover them with throws. They're too big for us to get them out of the house (we had help getting them in) so we're stuck with them!

The sofa I am currently sitting on is at least 50

Two months old, which replaced our 18 year old one. The old one was still in good condition and we kept it for another room.

About 11 years old. Still looks ok.

Our Parker knoll hand me downs are probably 30yrs old. We've had them 18 years. Gorgeous fabric, very comfy and frames still good. Would love to them reupholstered but probably not economical to do so.

Couldn't tell you. Bought it off eBay for £10 6months ago

I've got the sofa we bought when we were married, as a replacement for our old IKEA sofa, that had lasted for about 8 years.

This means my sofa is 24 years old. But the throws that cover it are substantially younger, and if I bought a new one, my cats would destroy it in a matter of months. So this one can struggle on for a lot longer!

3 years old. It was our first ever brand new sofa, before that we had second hand ones.
