If we're doing dead actors then clearly Bengt Ekerot from the Seventh Seal is the pick for Death. He's the original and best.

However with living actors you don't need a 'look' as Death would be animatronic. You need a voice. Like Darth Vader being the Green Cross Code man but the voice was James Earl Jones. Who has a voice like tombstones?

No! Granny Weatherwax is described as on the thin side but remarkably strong. Nanny Ogg is short and fat. Tbf, she's also had loads of children and is very well fed by her many DILs.

Roger Allam is subtle. Ridcully is anything but. I agree that the late great Robert Hardy would have been brilliant.

Sam Vimes of Cable Street is actually canonically the original mentor of Roger Allam’s cynical old copper in Endeavour.

Roger Allam can be subtle, of course, but I reckon he's got the pipes to also pull off the Ridcully Boom.

I think that Shirley from EastEnders has a very Granny W look to her. The glare, the cheekbones, the hardened-by-life set of the mouth.

Oh I have a soft spot Ridcully and more importantly, so does Granny W I mean obviously he is absolutely awful but hilarious and deceptively clever and every now and then rises above the foolishness of the wizards so I'm sticking with my anti-Clarkson stance.
