Physically as Carrot he'd be perfect but yes, he'd have to pull off the accent.

Personality wise yes but Merlin from Sword in the Stone is far too skinny for the Ridcully in my head. He's more like Brian Blessed (but not so much that I think Brian Blessed should play him). He's got presence.

I’ve never consciously realised this before until reading this thread, but I imagine two of the characters as Simpsons characters (although all the rest as real people)!
I for some reason imagine Sam Vimes as Chief Wiggum and Vetinari as Mr Burns!
