Started re-reading the Discworld series (really need something to cheer me up atm) and it just struck me.

I still think Chris Pratt for Carrot. He's brilliant at accents: ever see the clip of him on Graham Norton doing his TOWIE bit? Amazing.

I always thought Brenda Fricker would make a great Granny Weatherwax. Miriam Margoles definitely has the Nanny Ogg spirit, I see her as a wiry woman though.

Roger Allam can be subtle, of course, but I reckon he's got the pipes to also pull off the Ridcully Boom.

Absolutely, just think of the "I'm a nurse killer, a banker and now I'm raising FUCKING TAXES?" line from Thick of It as Peter Manyon.

And Chris Pratt really can do accents (that Graham Norton clip is hilarious).

Very good point made by a PP about Death being animated but would need a good voice. Alan Rickman would have been good, maybe?

Ian Richardson did Death in Hogfather, I believe - and he was perfect. Sadly he is no longer around.

Slightly off the wall suggestion
Ray Winstone as Willikins. Willikins was a street fighter / gang member (think peaky blinders) in his youth who has risen to the rank of butler.
You need someone who is believable as a scullery boy made good.

Danny Dyer isn't Carrot in any way! I think Damien Lewis is great but he's not burley enough. If Chris Evans can do accents, I will allow it.

I agree that Alan Rickman's voice would be great for Death. You need gravitas.

I'm not sure there is actually anyone 'enough to play human Greebo.

I want to say Santiago Cabrera because he is very beautiful... but Jason Mantzoukas does a very good wild haired slightly insane.

I cannot think of a Mort though. Or an Igor(s)

Miriam Margoles would be an awful Nanny Ogg, truly terrible. Although, I don't think MM should be anyone, I can't abide her; she's up there with Tom Cruise on my list of people who put me off watching things. Kathy Burke should be Nanny Ogg.

That fellow from Outlander should be Carrot.

Christopher Lee nailed the Death voice imo. I don't know who could get close to that...maybe Benedict Cumberbatch could pull it off?

Christopher Lee had a naturally deep voice partly due to his height (his singing voice was really deep). Not sure who has that now. You almost want an operatic bass.
